I don't know how accurate my "tool" is to keep an eye on this is, but I drew a line with permanent marker on this one crack, to keep an "eye" on it, and since living here (7 years) it hasn't moved in the the slightest bit. And we've had a few earthquakes.

Yikes. Who covers the cost of that repair? Sadly, it is pretty common in our track -- I am in Thousand Oaks, Ca -- house was built in '70.

We've had it inspected twice by two different home inspectors and they've deemed it "normal" settling; the worst of it is in the garage.

I know CA isn't the ONLY place where this happens - it is just more common due to seismic activity/ground settling. In fact, the crack I show above runs across the sidewalk all the way through my driveway, garage, house, and patio.

thanks for your response! I did consider pouring leveler, but didn't think about underlayment. Not a bad idea. However, not sure if having something soft like that under these tiles is recommended due to the nature of how they lock together.
