    Washington Rain Bunker

Hi neighbor! Looks like your garage turned out fine, in spite of the problems! Would you recommend your contractor? I'm planning on adding a shop to our new house - also in Olalla - next spring.

Anyone know building codes for detached garages in Seattle?

And if you can place the garage with standard setback, would be even easier to get approved. I do know Seattle/King County can be a pain getting permits thru plan check - have you thought about getting away from the city/county? Rich

Anyone know building codes for detached garages in Seattle?

I'd start here if you're in the city - http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/permits/ or http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/permits/ for uninorporated King County GOOD LUCK! Rich

Left over materials from siding and roofing project - Who do they belong too?

I believe it's yours - you (your insurance company) paid for it - NOT you contractor. I'd return it to the building supply, & I'd talk to you insurance conpany about who gets the bucks! It should be them since they paid, but it's their call...

recommend studded winter tires for ram pickup?

Any SIPED tire is an improvement over studded - and unlike studs, don't destroy the highway - my rant.....

Where's the general FAQ for the complete noob?

Yep - what most said - times 10!! We were one of the first in a small HOA - about 45 1-acre lots. Was great for the first few years - large private park - had great July 4th partys with fireworks - then the worst happened. One of the owners died & his wife sold their house to a retired couple...

Using rubber air hose to plumb shop..

About 15 years ago, working in a film processing house, we ran a similar system with approx 200 drops for assorted machines. Was easy to work with, had no problems with moisture, even with the compressors on the roof, and was still working fine last I heard - 5 or 6 years ago. Rich

Garage Air Lines: Rapid Air, Opinions ?

Don't think it was that brand, but I ran over 2000 ft of it in several buildings, with a couple hundred drops - worked great! this was 15 years ago - some of it still in use. Also used inside 15 heavy-use machines with no leaks, & easy to service . Used both metal & plastic connectors...

    Great Garage Makeovers

Guess I'm going to have to look harder - Lowes had none, & HD had what appears to be a previious issue - display till Feb 6 - for $12! Got it anyway - lots of cool shops & ideas - at least for the "wood" tools!

How to, "Build American" so Americans will buy.

Wishing to buy a new truck, but getting a BAD case of sticker shock, plus seeing all the plushy stuff part of the basic vehicle, I'm staying with older trucks. I'd say your wish list is dead on!

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Bought a lot of tools from HF over the last 20+ years - way more than I can remember! Only real failure was a bat charger - switch is bad - no repair parts, but was cheap. Have a couple broken sockets, but sets are so cheap it doesn't matter. Have the 18 gauge Air Finish nailer - bought in 2000...

    Well water pressure

Charles - don't mind you being "long winded" at all - appreciate all the knowledge!! So instead of simply teeing the two tanks to seperate, I'd need to install a second pump in the reserve tank and create a second system? Not an option, unless the buyer of the other house wants to pay...
