We actually lucked out on placement for the garage. We abut a drainage easement on two sides and placed the garage foundation right on the lines - with town approval of course. This in turn gave us much more usable yard space which we weren't even planning for! Bonus!

Forms went up in a day, with concrete poured into the footings the next. After about a week for concrete to set and the town to inspect they were back to do the foundation.
