I went to change the upper spark plugs on my 2013 ram 4.7 engine but found that my spark plug socket was too large in diameter to fit into the recess the plug is in. What are you using to change the plugs on these trucks?

I am about to change the rear differential fluid on my subaru and it requires a 13mm plug socket. Should I buy the socket or can I get away with using a 1/2" extension? Has anyone damaged these plugs when not using the correct tool?

I will be sending my daughter to college this fall and plan on setting up a basic set of tools for her new apartment. She won't be doing any major repairs, just hanging pictures, putting things together, etc. So far I have a hammer, couple of screwdrivers, small adjustable wrench, jumper...
