Is this to code/how would you handle this?

In a major house remodel, added a 240 plug in the laundry for an electric dryer. Ran a single 10/3 through a new conduit out the top of the breaker box through the eve. A sub contracted electrician later ran some new circuits and ran 2 - 12/2 wires through some poorly installed flex into the...

What is it? Buss Fuse in socket.

I have been looking at houses recently, and in a couple houses I have seen a single socket with a screw in Buss Fuse and what appears to be a capacitor. In both cases the houses were reportedly built in the 1970s and have a regular breaker box as well. A picture is attached. Any help is...

Impact driver drill chuck - real life example.

I have argued against using a drill adaptor on an impact driver here before. The centrifugal impact is hard on bits. And, as it turns out, iit is hard on the adaptor. At work I was stuck with the tools available. I was using a Makita adapter marketed for impacts on a Milwaukee m12 with max...

    Winpower COV4400H generator

Quick adjustment to run at 60 hertz and it. Is 120/240 on the dot. The 240 plug is not one I have seen before. It is powered by...

What kind of bits are these?

Picked up a Huot index, mostly full of unused bits. They numbered 1-43. There is an M in a box with bowed out sides, and under that CO and USA. I am guessing they might be cobalt? The fluted section is short but the bit length is normal.

    DeWalt compact jobsite radio

I just picked up a new Dewalt compact jobsite radio, model DCR018. Kind of an impulse buy but it is something I will use a lot - working on property, car camping, fishing, etc. I had the older version for the 18v pack but have pretty much gotten out of the 18v platform. The last of my 18v...
