    convert a 20A 250V outlet to 15A 120V

    I replaced an old A/C unit that plugged into a 20A 250V outlet connected to a 20A switch in the fuse box. The new A/C has a plug marked 15A 120V and does not fit in the old outlet. Can I just replace the old with a new 15A 120V outlet?
