custom oil filter relocation kit. ideas?

I need to move the oil filter on my garden tractor engine. My plan was to make a simple aluminum block with barbed fittings to mount to the engine case and a separate block for the oil filter, connected with oil rated hose. This is a small 18hp twin cylinder engine with a small oil filter. The...

While I am repairing the subfeed to my shop, I was hoping to move the exterior conduit and LB on the wall to come up under the slab, up thru the wall, then into the bottom of the electrical panel. To do this, the conduit literally be right at the edge of the slab. The shop is a pole barn...

Anyone use a rotary switch for multiple welders?

One breaker, multiple welders. I'd like to have the convenience of having my mig, tig, and plasma cutter plugged in all the time without having to take up so many breakers in the panel since I won't be using more than one at the same time. I've been looking at something like this. I'm wiring my...

    Stone veneer sealer suggestions

I am installing some stone veneer for a project and looking for suggestions on a sealer that doesn't change the color. The stone veneer I am using is "natural" travertine veneer that has been dyed. I tried using Miracle Sealants 511 but it really changed the color, see pic. Any ideas?

    Atlas bandsaw start capacitor replacement

I'm overhauling the electric motor on my old new-to-me atlas bandsaw. The motor was squealing so I purchased new bearings, and eventually started to just hum and not turn over. Assuming the start capacitor, I ordered one from a local electronics store. The capacitor is permanently wired...

    Wiring Pole Barn around Posts?

I'm looking at planning the wiring in my pole barn and wondering how I can get around the main support posts. The girts and siding are actually offset by 1.5" from the poles to the outside, leaving a 1.5" gap between the posts and siding. There are spacers nailed to the posts that offset the...

    plywood as a vapor barrier

I am looking to insulate my pole barn shop. The building is currently sheathed on the outside with T-111 and no barrier of any kind but the ceiling is already insulated. Here in the mid-valley of Oregon, I believe that the vapor barrier is to be applied on the inner side of an outside wall...

The floor on the shop of my new place is uneven. It's a pole barn with a concrete floor, but when it was poured no containment was provided for the gravel base. Over the years the gravel has settled out from underneath the concrete and the floor has shifted as a result. I called a mudjacking...

After 15 years I finally was able to move to a new house with a shop! I am the guy with car parts piled on the back patio, family room, garage, carport, attic, etc. and I can now start to plan a layout in my 23' x 52' shop. It's a pole barn with a concrete floor and no power, insulation, or even...

Air compressor pulling from under the house

I'm looking to accomplish two things, a cooler intake charge, and quieting the compressor a bit. I would pull from the attic but it gets 100+ in the summer up there. My only concern is sucking in extra moisture. Its a 2stage 60gallon HF compressor. Thoughts?

    Locating an air compressor part...

Hi Everyone, I feel stupid even asking this question, but I can't find a place to order a simple screw that I broke on my craftsman air compressor. Searspartsdirect can't get it for me, they do not sell the individual screw and it's not part of a kit. Can anyone by a stroke of luck have this...
