1936 atlas Craftsman lathe- bronze sleeve bearings oil cup question

So I got it running n for the spindle oil I used automatic transmission dextron (not type f), because it's all I had right now n I heard it wouldn't hurt anything. I ran it for about a minute total. Problem is the oil cups for the spindle do not have any felt pads, and the bearings just have...

lathe bronze bushing marred from spindle removal- can it be saved?

Long of the short, I shouldn't have but did, and removed the spindle since there seemed to be something causing drag. (1935 craftsman 9 inch lathe, so I'd have to have a new bearing/bushing made, or buy a bushing with the correct interior diameter and manually sand it down the exterior to fit...

Just bought this railroad anvil, good deal or not?

So I bought this at the same estate type sale as the other vintage stuff I've posted recently. I bought this for $20.00 23.5lbs. has some surface rust, but nothing bad. 16 inches in length. Good deal or did I pay a bit much? I don't know a whole hell of a lot about some of this old stuff...

Just picked up this old sears compressor for $5.00. Needs new tank though....

Seeing where I may get a new tank for this. Everything else works like a clock. 1hp, 100psi tank (has a pinhole, also was previously welded), and I was at an estate sale and took it on a flyer. If I can't make it work, toss it, $5.00, who cares, I spend more money on garbage food I wish I didn't...

just got an old craftsman lathe looking too see what's missing and any history

So I got this lathe today for $25. I put whatever there was together and showed what else came with it in the pictures. I put the chuck in the hole, although I just think it's missing a pin, although I don't know what kind, etc. as I'm not familiar with lathes. Not sure if the chuck is broken...

Question about monarch 217 I'm thinking of purchasing.

Did they all come with replaceable jaws? Did some of them? Or were they modified to fit later? This one doesn't have them, doesn't seem to have the option or scar marks from previously having them. I'm just making sure if someone who knows, knows. Thanks in advance.

Ok, ended up buying a vise off ebay

Got this old Athol no 70 for $61.99 off ebay! I'm guessing early 1900's (maybe late 1890's to late first decade 1900's), over a 100 years old. Anybody can vise the age down for me a bit or some info I'd appreciate it. Not in pristine shape, n I know it's small with no swivel, but for under $62...
