    remove my 18 inch flex duct and connect air handler directly to trunk?

    I want to remove the 15 foot 18 inch trunk and connect with plenum right to the trunk. Is there a reason why this will not work and will it improve my air flow/heating/cooling? I cannot see why this long flex is there in the first place??
