    extra item in package of assorted sanding belts for bench mounted vertical belt sander . Item is 1/4”x 2” x3” it is a flexible but kind of bumpy pad ?

    I bought a package of assorted grit Craftsman vertical sanding belts , that included an item that is 1/4”x2”x3” that is flexible, bumpy yet smooth feeling . What is the purpose of this item ??
