    Exhaust fan relay question.

3 ice cube relays could work as described but all switches (or whatever is driving each relay) would have to be off for the fan to stop. An enclosure would be needed for the relays. What about 2 3ways and a 4 way arrangement?

Does this air compressor look like it is worth trying to save?

DIV 1 means the requirements of the ASME code for pressure vessels below 3000 psi.

Does this air compressor look like it is worth trying to save?

No kidding. But swagging to a 2x pressure test value can become a destructive test. So if it ruptures at 400psi (using your method) what have you proven? And then you're left with scrap and a bunch of wasted time.

Does this air compressor look like it is worth trying to save?

ASME standards for NEW pressure vessels use 1.3 MAWP. Since this is old and of uncertain upkeep, I would not exceed that value. Without having specs for which the tank was designed for and empirical data, SWAGing it isnt a good idea. (People making bombs have had unexpected results.)

Does this air compressor look like it is worth trying to save?

Skip the grease. Think about how much you would need to pump into it. What pressure could you create pumping grease? How do you clean it out? Compressed air is better but do you have any equipment that can develop ~260 psi, measure it accurately, and do so at elevated temps matching the...

Does this air compressor look like it is worth trying to save?

Not 2x MAWP!! At best 1.3x MWAP. Yes, it needs to be water filled. Not sure of the 90% amount but it is very high. Water is incompressible compared to gases. If there is a rupture, a water leak will show quicker and not contain the the explosive forces that a compressed gas can. The water will...

    Problem with Garbage Disposal Wiring

Yup, thought of that as well, but just for a few hundred $ maybe there are newer options (that work). However, I dont want garbage/POS. I wouldn't use it enough to justify a Fluke for this purpose and have enough dvm's already. ETA: Ebay has Fluke 1503's in the $2/300 range. Not a combo DVM...

    Problem with Garbage Disposal Wiring

This thread prompted me to look at current offerings of meggers. Much cheaper today than the old biddle crank-up style of yesteryear. Anyone have experience with Klein ET600 or other cheapies offered today?

    Camper wiring

Why not just buy 10-3 SJ or SO cord and put a TT-30P on the end and TT-30Rs on each source? You manually switch between either source by unplugging/plugging in to desired source. That's exactly how George Washington did it back in the day.

In use outlet covers that don't let wasps in?

When a home sells here, there is a new CO that has to be achieved. It covers all smoke detectors getting smoke tested (10 year battery models required after a certain date) and a big honkin fire extinguisher added in plain site in the kitchen or just off of it (for real!) with a valid service...

In use outlet covers that don't let wasps in?

HI's bulk up their report with current code requirements knowing full well many things are grand-fathered in from previous code cycles. The more they list, the better the inspection they did, right? I saw 1 report where the guy used 4 pages to detail where each of the utilities' shut-offs...

In use outlet covers that don't let wasps in?

Try and install a brush (whiskers) to close off the opening. There are many brush styles and dimensions. (No, I dont mean paint brushes.) Look online....mcmaster should have a variety. If you have the polycarbonate covers throw out those POS, buy the cast alum.

200amp shutoff - Knife or breaker?

Ok, understand now what you're doing. Forget about the POCO. Your 400a cb takes care of them. Just get a nema 3r 200a cb disco. Plenty available. Pick a name brand and shop price. Your feeder needs to be 4 wire.
