My little Texaco in the woods

Thanks. I'll be working on the paint booth next, that will take a while to get done. No painted buildings in the woods :lol_hitti

Nothing great, but I finished the gable shingles and some more siding. Trying to finish the siding on my garage next to it. Excuse the Kendall Oil Sign, it's going to go in front of the other building when all is done.

My little Texaco in the woods

Some more of the siding is done and some siding on the garage across from it. It was a crappy winter so nothing much got done. My paint booth stuff should be arriving soon so that will be the next project, installing the fan, backdraft dampers, plenum, and wiring it for many lights, etc., then...

That would be the original cab off the 51 Chev pickup I've had forever, I have a 48 cab for it that is rust free. I have way too many projects and I'm not all that young

Not really an update, just a pic with a cool car. Still have a LOT of siding to do

My little Texaco in the woods

Thanks all for your positive comments and encouragement. Probably not a lot of updates coming for a while, mostly doing siding for the foreseeable future :( I need to do all the soffits and siding on the garage right across from the shop before I can even start on my paint booth, so this is...

Thanks, wish I was progresing faster. There's a guy that restores pumps, motorbikes and various odd bits near me. He had this 1956 Bennett in fairly reasonable condition that I had him restore. You come across them at swap meets regularly, sometimes restored, mostly ones in need of work...

My little Texaco in the woods

Thanks and don't give up on your dreams. This is nothing compared to some of what I've seen here, just a matter of adjusting your dreams to whatever is possible. I couldn't have done this in the city I came from. Thanks and wish I could provide more updates, but there's just so much more going...

My little Texaco in the woods

Sorry for the delay on updates, I've been moving at a snail's pace and I don't get e-mail alerts that anyone has replied? Must be something I can change about that. Please forgive the mess, unpacking is a messy business Anyway, got almost all the soffits done except one end of the building...

My little Texaco in the woods

Sorry for the delay getting back to this, been really busy getting organized after the move. I do have some small updates, I'll get out there with a camera as soon as I can and post some pics. Thanks, the house is 26' x 35' plus the 8' deck. The loft is the master bedroom and about 240 sq...

My little Texaco in the woods

The logs for the house go up green and they shrink about 4 - 5 inches over the next 6 - 8 years so the way the interior walls, window and door openings are built is quite interesting. Thanks

Doesn't look much different without the snow. The river rock chimney is truly a work of art.

Thanks guys. I'm well south of Alaska but the forest is pretty much the same from northern California all the way to Alaska or at least it seems to me having been through a fair bit of that stretch. We have Cedar here as opposed to Redwood but otherwise similar. I didn't seal both sides of the...

My little Texaco in the woods

You can't see anything from the road or even from the neighbours, they're all big forested properties. If you look at the driveway pics you can see that with all the turns I put in you can only see a 100 feet or so at a time.

My little Texaco in the woods

It's a log house so that's why I'm going with stained cedar siding on the shop and garage, wouldn't look right painted white and green me thinks. Here's the house, my wife wanted a small house and I wanted a big shop and garage, worked out perfectly :D This is looking off the deck towards...

My little Texaco in the woods

Thanks guys. I should be painting the inside next week and then hang the lights and wire the plugs. I wired the heaters after it was boarded so now that it's warm in there I can get back to pre-staining the siding and putting it up. Just need about 3 feet of snow to melt where it slid off the...
