    Your thoughts on VCT?

I'm pretty interested in VCT as well. Also being from Canada, I'm wondering if melting snow and water from cars will cause tiles to lift. Matt

    Parts washer help?

Dont count out a small ultrasonic cleaner. If your mainly going to use it for bearings from your bikes then it will do a much better job than a regular parts washer. Although I replaced all the bearings from the motorcycle I restored, I did run each old bearing through my ultrasonic cleaner for...

    First Tool Chest Suggestions?

Well I didnt buy one today, for now I am using my dads old Mastercraft one which has been real good so far for him. We dont have Harbor Freight here but another version called Princess Auto which doesnt have great toolbox selection. Just some large International Classic Series. As for...

    First Tool Chest Suggestions?

Thanks guys, Right now I am planning on going to Sears to look at Craftsman/International boxes and also Home depot because they carry Waterloo. Home depot's waterloo's are very inexpensive, hopefully the quality is good though. Does Waterloo have a good reputation? Better than Cman and...

    First Tool Chest Suggestions?

Thanks guys for the help. I started looking at used ones online in my area and have narrowed it down to these two; A craftsman chest 27'' i think...

Sorry if this has been discussed, Im sure it has but I did a quick search that didnt give me much information. Anyways, I bought my first set of tools a couple days a go and they arrived today. A Craftsman 300 pc set for $220. I dont really need a tool set yet (Im only 16) because I just use...

    Show off your Bike Build

A Norton 750 Commando is what my dad and I have been working on for the past year. Stripped her down to nothing and we're just about to start reassembly, just waiting for some parts to get in. A "before" shot, and one of the engine after we rebuilt it. Matt

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

Thanks a lot for the pictures, you didn't need to take them just for me. I'd post pics of mine right now which is ten times worse than yours but I am on my phone and don't know how to do it without my computer. I'm thinking off white or grey for sure on the colors. I love Jack Olsens green...

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

I really think right now that that is what I want to do. Some nicely painted OSB, some self made cabinets and cupboards, a bigger/nicer workbench, and a ceramic tile floor. Dont want to make it too nice though because I have a habit of getting it dirty quickly :). Matt

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

I was just going to ask the question about painting OSB; if I fill the seams and put on a couple thick layers of paint, wont it look alright? Im not looking for a drywall finish if it'll save me a substantial amount of money - just more or less trying to cut down on dust and grime because...

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

Thats a great idea actually, I bet something could be used to cover up the seams and still look great. Matt

Porcelain tile - what preparations I need?

Im torn between flooring options for my garage. Id like to do tiles, but they might be expensive (havent looked into the cost for a two car garage yet) and also concrete staining. But my first choice would be tiles providing they arent too expensive. How easily does a creeper roll around or a...

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

Thanks guys for the help. As for the VCT, I actually just discovered concrete staining and was thinking about that, it looks to be a bit cheaper even too. I think that the VCT might encounter problems with all the snow we get here and water dripping off the cars will not be great for VCT. I...

My Epoxy-Coat floor one year later

Nice looking floor! when you etched it with muriatic acid, did you scrub it in with a brush or broom or use a burnisher? Matt

    Concrete stain...

I dont mean to hijack this thread but, I was planning on installing VCT because it was cheap and easy, and I wasnt sure an epoxy floor would last (peeling etc) I had no idea about concrete staining though. I am very interested actually, the stain and sealer looks to be cheaper than VCT and it...

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

Don't worry, I'm sure my dad will love to do this, but I will present my plans and ideas to him on his birthday or fathers day, then hopefully if he wants to, we can promptly start building it together. I think it is something he will enjoy doing, but he won't be forced into it obviously...

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

Ive thought about insulating the attic, blowing it in is probably the best option. I drew up some plans today because I was bored, Ive got plenty of cupboards all around the walls, a wider work bench, a motorcycle table, and even some of those "drop down"/folding (but "pull-up" in my case)...

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

Well, I am almost certain that he would be on board with it, of course he would probably want to help me build it, I'd just pay for it and organize it. As far as I know the garage is insulated, just not the ceiling unfortunately. Matt

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

I dont mind that idea at all actually. Saves money at least, and probably look pretty good. Thanks Matt

    Drywall vs. Plywood Interior Walls

Id also have to assume, if its lined with OSB right now by the original builder, there must not be restrictions with code, because OSB cant be any better than plywood for preventing fire. Matt
