I've always used the red rubber hose from Goodyear but bought a flexzilla hose for our local VFD and what a great hose. My new ones for the shop will be flexzilla.

I just had a 42' x 87' pad poured for our local Volunteer Fire Department. It was 4,000 psi, 6" thick with 1/2" rebar every 18". The price worked out to $4.90 per square foot.

Took me five years but this is, without a doubt, the best thing I've built in my shop.

I took out an old textbook and found a formula for calculating PSI of a vehicle; contact area of tire, number of tires, weight of vehicle all accounted for. It shows 4,000 psi concrete should be okay for the weight of those vehicles.

The bays are all the same, 6" thickness, 4,000 psi. Common sense should say the pad would be the same but I was worried about all the maneuvering that goes on backing the trucks, washing, filling, etc. The bays are in or out driving only.

I put a wire on mine and drilled a small hole in the metal wall. Stuck the wire through and now I get five mores stations than I did before. Most stations in this area are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, about 50-60 miles from me.

It's doable, I would put the containers side by side and cut the interior wall, plenty of room that way. Ventilation and filtering is easy, just cut and frame the hole for box fans and filters on the inlet and outlet ports. I made a live fire training facility out of containers. It's hard work...
