    Harbor Freight 12 Ton Press - 60604

not being able to see the newer 12 ton model partially swayed my decision to get the 20 ton. i don't expect this press to see the type of work that would require one of the more expensive models - much like others here, i'm only going to use it periodically. i've had good success with the...

    Brake bleeding kit???

i've been using bleeders from motive products for years - they've stood up to all kinds of abuse too at the track, on race cars, etc. they even sell spare parts for their gear, which is a rarity anymore it seems.

    Harbor Freight 12 Ton Press - 60604

This thread will cover the changes in the 20 ton model - which, i'm going to guess there were similar changes in the 12 ton. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=197534&highlight=60603 however, i "splurged" and ended up buying the 20 ton. my store had it in stock and i've used...

    Harbor Freight 12 Ton Press - 60604

do you recall - is it the newer version? and, yes, absolutely vital - get everything straight, understand leverage, etc. very important!

    Harbor Freight 12 Ton Press - 60604

i probably didn't explain that very well, either. i meant that the 20 ton has a coupon bringing it to 149, currently on sale at 199 so even at 25% off, 149 is as low as it gets. the 12 ton is 129 on sale right now, so 25% coupon brings it down under 100.

    Harbor Freight 12 Ton Press - 60604

I'm debating between the 12 and 20 ton HF shop press. I've read the threads here on the newer 20 ton press (60603) and have a fairly good read on that model. I'm curious - does anyone have any feedback on the newer (60604) 12 ton model? On sale and with a 25% coupon, it fits my budget very...

natural gas line - cost to install

james, i know exactly what you are saying. i ran so many different calculations, etc. once i found the break even point for my situation, then it became an easier decision. i'm not going to rule out the possibility of someday switching or changing things up, but for now i'm happy and the shop...

    Branick 580

Just curious - those with experience - can the older Branick strut compressors like the MST-580 be used on newer vehicles? Any limitations? And, by newer, I'm talking about mostly German stuff from the 80s to around 2005 or so. I'm considering one for my new shop, and just don't have the...

natural gas line - cost to install

just thought i'd provide an update. i never could get a bid under about 2k to install the gas line. i couldn't get anyone to give me a bid on just making the final connections if i ran everything else. i ended up going with electric heat - radiant heaters up near the ceiling. i've been very...

natural gas line - cost to install

thought i would update this. we've made numerous calls to various plumbers in the area. finally got a second plumber to come out and bid the project. then, took a month to actually get the bid - we had to keep calling - second bid was $1800. while $1000 less than the first bid, that still...

natural gas line - cost to install

i was completely baffled by the first bid i received. it's about a 50 foot run from the meter to the building, and nearly a straight shot - likely only one bend would be necessary. the ground is easy to dig up, we had no trouble digging for the building or when we did the trench for the...

natural gas line - cost to install

we did contact the gas company right away initially - they referred us to a local, licensed plumber.... well, that was after putting us on hold for 55 minutes.....

natural gas line - cost to install

68rustang - same here for me. i (and my neighbors, family, friends, etc.) have done a bulk of the work on this project, but free time is hard to find right now to devote to finishing this portion. like you say, i was hoping to find someone that could do it reasonably and then cross it off of...

bochnak - does your area require a plumber to perform the connections?

natural gas line - cost to install

that's still cheaper than the insane quote i received for a roughly 50' run. i'm still hoping to get a couple more bids for natural gas, but i'm also researching propane at this point...

natural gas line - cost to install

well, despite our best efforts we've been unable to get anyone to show up and give a bid. so, i have no updates on this at the moment. i'm approaching crunch time to make a decision on HVAC for the garage - debating electric vs. propane (LP) at the moment.

natural gas line - cost to install

great input everyone. i will definitely update once we move forward. other than some logistical issues in a few spots, this has been the most difficult part of the whole project. i'm doing all the low voltage wiring myself, and we did our own building wiring. i'm very familiar with low...

natural gas line - cost to install

good to see feedback - thank you everyone so far for posting up. i'm having a tough time getting folks to come out and bid here - the one bid i've received so far i was fairly certain was high for an area that isn't known for high cost of living, etc. first bid was $2800 for the gas line alone...

natural gas line - cost to install

Hello everyone - first post here, but i've been searching and reading for a while now. i'm currently working on my garage project - a 24x30 detached with 12 foot ceilings. i'm curious if others could share what a typical price range would be to have a natural gas line run? my garage is about...
