Craftsman screwdrivers are everywhere. They are cheap enough that you won't feel bad about using them as pry bars, chisels, or picks. Based on that, I say they are number one!

Hopefully it's not too late for CM. Younger guys (under 40) don't really have the attachment (and broken hearts) that us older guys have for Craftsman. Younger guys DIY's types are already die hard (lol) Harbor Freight customers or big box customers. But bringing CM back to Made in America...

The biggest mistake I see is new mechanics mortgaging their future buying ridiculously expensive tools. Are you trying to build a beautiful collection of high dollar tools? Or, are you trying to make a living? Even Harbor Freight tools are fully adequate. And, even Snap On tools fail.

I never found a tool in the street. I did come close last year. I was driving home through suburbia and saw a big red pipe wrench in the street. But, I looked up ahead and a plumbing truck had had a fender bender with a Toyota Camry.

I say go with cheap tools. HF tools work just fine. And don't worry about those Chinese workers - they are a thrifty, diligent bunch. After all, the good 'ole USA owes China tons of dough. Now I can tell that for you "tools" are more than just "tools." How about all the money you make/save...
