    Source for 4"x6" laminated glass

Found a source, guys! Will also drop by the local auto glass shop on Saturday. Great youtube clip on how to cut it, which I'm confident I can manage if any remnants are available. Appreciate the feedback! Chandos

    Source for 4"x6" laminated glass

I need to replace one of the eye guard lenses on a pedestal grinder I just acquired. I've done all the basic web searching and come up dry. Does anyone know of a possible source for such a thing? McMaster-Carr wants $72 for a sheet of wired glass in this size, which seems preposterously dear...

Where do you point your overhead heater louvers?

My Dimplex installation manual suggests that air flow run parallel to a wall.

    Astro Pneumatic Tool Company

Astro Pneumatic long-reach pliers from Woot: buyer be wary! Received my set of long-reach pliers from Woot today. The tools are robustly built, if rather crudely finished, though the plier jaws and side cutter seem precise enough. On the other hand, the straight long-nose pliers exhibit deep...

    Duro 3022 price?

Does anyone have the vaguest idea what a fair price for a Duro 3022 metal-cutting bandsaw might be? I've got a line on one that's in decent shape. It's a four speed saw and dates from the 50's as best I can tell. Construction is all cast except for the base, which is steel. I'm clueless...

Lista bench - butcher block top

Also, flipping it is not a bad idea, though I've often discovered that some one else had the same idea. Drill out the bolt holes and plug with a maple dowell (makes for a nicer finish). Trim flush, sand, and finish. The bolts may draw down the warpage.

Lista bench - butcher block top

The other defects are fairly easy to correct. Probabably the hardest part will be to find maple, if you don't have a local mill. I suspect that you can find it on the 'bay. You don't need much. That top really isn't in such bad shape, though it appears intimidating.

Lista bench - butcher block top

Epoxy, cabinet clamps, and a belt sander are your friends. I would dry clamp the top to see whether the gaps will close. If they do, then I'd use a two part epoxy, administered through a syringe, to wet out the gaps. Clamp it lightly, and then put something *really* heavy on the crown of the...

    Newly aquired Starrett Toolbox

Montgomery Ward sold them badged "Powr-Kraft," as well. It seems a little 'less' finished, but it is a Kennedy. I love these little boxes.

    northern tool must haves? any?

FWIW this is identical to the HF version, which can be had more cheaply with coupons or on sale. It's a great little product. Rock solid. [QUOTE=Scout Driver;4169674]Not sure what your needs are, but I have one of these folding work platforms...

    northern tool must haves? any?

I must have scored the same set at the Hampton Store, paid around $16 a couple of months ago. For all the use I'll give them, I'm delighted.

Pretty large Starrett Athol 926 for sale

It is exceptionally well machined and properly lubed turns quite freely. It's a massive thing and the locking bolts are very robust. I've never had it moved, but I'm sure that I haven't approached it's limits in my own usage. But it is the best vise I have ever used, and I don't regret buying...

    WTB: Bridgeport table lock bolts

Hi, folks, I'm looking for a pair of these for my mid-50s vintage BP mill. I don't much care about the cosmetics, save that they be straight and mechanically sound. If you have such a thing, or can point me to a source, I will be much obliged if you contact me. I am aware of the modern...
