    PVC airline explosion - pictures

That is what people don't get: liquid is incompressible and is why it is used for lifting. Air copmresses and stores like a spring. Just say no to PVC. RApid air is fast and eay

    Opinions on gantry cranes

I bought one from HF and have used it extensively. It is like any tool in a tool chest, you can often get by without it, but is so handy. Especially working in the shop alone. The gantry in conjunction with my 2 post lift and cherry picker allows me to handle so much more than only one would.

    Knives & blacksmithing and more

Patterns are also made by repeatedly folding and hammering in the Damascus fashion. Japanese swords are made (were) that way and even some gun barrels (do not use with modern powder). Gives some strength due to lamination effect but also can lead to rusting and breakdown. Parkerizing can also...

    2 post Lift Refurbish/Re-build (Weaver)

Good job--just don't figure out your labor cost. :). I love the auto rebuild shows like wheeler dealer, they do a goo djob but poor Edd never gets his labor costs included

    Need two post lift advice

The upgrade to the 10VP was worth it. Heavy duty arm locks that engauge well and firmly, and the metal is thicker and still has the variable symmetry on the arms

    Blast cabinet won't siphon..

Internals will eventually fail due to friction with abrasive. I use carbide wherever I can and that helps. Look for wear. TP tools sells just the gun.

Parts washers - solvent v. water v. bio

I would love to find one like they have on the BBC show wheeler dealers. It is an enclosed cabinet and uses high pressure air with solvent and really get parts clean. Have seen some BIG industrial type but theirs is a small unit with clamshell type enclosure

    Need two post lift advice

The Greg SMith PV10 ahs a single point to release the latch; arms swing easy and plenty of room, for the $ it was the best one I found. I had floor poured and went to 6" to be sure--but 3" will not suffice and rebar makes it tougher as invariably a couple of anchor bolts will interfere. 4" with...

    building a paint booth

I am wanting to build an attachment on my building for a paint booth. I looked a purchasing a booth, but would take up valuable space, and if I build the addition and put a booth in that just increases the cost: has anyone here built a dedicated building that they made into a paint booth...

    Need two post lift advice

I bought a PV10-p and it is a 10,000# lift, 2500# per arm. and is certified. I looked at a bunch on craigs list but they were wanting 75-80% the cost of a new one--not worth the risk. I also had mine installed-Best $500 I have spent in a while--it took him 4-6 hours and saved me from having to...
