What is the safest way to lift jack stands to increase they're effective height? I need to lift the front end of my Eclipse high enough to slide the engine/transmission under it to lift it back into place. When I dropped the engine down while pulling it, I had to push my jack stands further...

One tip that has saved me hours is to re-thread any bolt back into its original hole that you can after the part is taken off...that way you know for sure where it came from. Obviously with a frame off you might not be able to do that as much depending on what you want to do to the body, but...
