I know this thread is over a yr old but the tool box I just inherited is in desperate need of a restoration.
I have read that Hide Glue is the way to go .It seems to be a bit more forgiving than the spray adhesive mentioned above.
Anyone have any experience with it.
I will not use anything by Behr .Had the same experience with a water base "natural" deck stain. The deck was "poop" colored. Of course those weren't the words I used to describe it
Nothing terribly precise.I have a lot of old woodworking tools that need parts that no longer exist . I would have to buy another and cannibalize it which I hate to do.
Most of the small lathes are from schools that have done away with their programs .I don't think they really saw much use...
I have been looking for a southbend, logan or atlas lathe for a while. Every time I find one on Ebay that I think is worth the price, its pick up onlya 1000 or more miles away.
There is one on the bay now ,close to home but the asking price is $2K
