How about getting one socket in each and using them a while. Then you’d be able to tell first hand without a huge investment. Doing that led me to Nepros and Williams USA FWIW.

Not an expert but been in the position you're describing. Take a look at the Nepros 90 tooth stubby and short ratchets. They have 1/4, 3/8, 3/8 flex and 3/8 compact head.

The sets of the regular megadora are cheaper and really nice. They have a few sets to choose from and are great JIS options.

Inherited a 2014 Taurus SEL recently as well. It's got the 3.5 cyclone V6. Anything different is need for it. Haven't done much wrenching on the Lincoln but this car will be my son's in a bit when he can drive so I want to teach him how to do the basics on it.
