Rebuilt one of those transmissions a couple years ago. There were a couple of good YouTube videos on it, and we did it all following along the videos. It was pretty simple with the videos to follow. I think the rebuild kit was about $110. Ours had noisy bearings and leaking seals.

It's a 3GP file and I can't figure out how to convert it or upload it. It doesn't show anything except the branch falling, you can't see any of the saw or hinge details in use.

There's a rope tied to the black loop. Using the loop helps keep the assembly from twisting. The rope/black loop is pulled over the branch and lifts the chainsaw into place, and tension on it keeps it tight against the branch.

14” bar, uses no gas, this thing is a beast! Uses cooking oil or used motor oil for the chain, so it costs virtually nothing to operate. Best use to date was dragging it 30’ or so up an oak tree with a pair of ropes to “remotely” drop the limbs from one side of the tree. Fun times.
