    Drill Bits, Sharpen Or Replace?

As much as I would like to have an industrial grade Darex sharpener, I use a much more affordable setup. I put together this rig using one of those commonly available old sharpening jigs. It bolts on to my vertical belt sander in place of the platen and the depth of grind is adjusted with the...

    Kodiak Cutting Tools

I have used a lot of their carbide endmills, HSS taps, and HSS chucking reamers. Never any quality issues. Everything has been on size, well finished, and sharp. All marked USA on the tooling. I too always ordered direct from the website in singles. Never tried their drill bits, have always...

    Rockwell belt sander questions

Normal operation: Alternative routing: You just run the belt through the hole in whatever you're sanding before you hook it over the lower pulley. May want to remove the platen as well, I didn't for a quick picture.

    Rockwell belt sander questions

That idler arm isn't engaged in normal use. It's used with a second small idler wheel under the table for an alternate belt routing to sand the inside of objects with a hole in them. I'll grab a picture on lunch break, it'll be much easier than trying to explain it.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Got this C0 from my brother-in-law a couple years back. He worked in a railroad maintenance shop and they were going to scrap it. Stripped, painted, lubed, and new swivel locks.

The One Snap On Ratchet You'd Choose

If I was only going to have one, and had other styles of 3/8 ratchets from other brands to use as well? The FLF80. I also really like my FF80, but if I was only buying one I'd definitely get the long version.

Make an arbor press a ratcheting arbor press

I got this idea from someone in the "show your arbor press" thread on this site. Ridgid pipe threading head. I added the hand wheel afterward to make positioning the ram easier. It has worked really well for me. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZVo3fupygPNAp5Ci7

Best tool to tighten square nut

You're correct that 12pt sockets will fit on square bolts, but you're mistaken on the size. Often times you can find a 12pt that will fit your square well enough, but it will always be a larger size than the width across the flats of the nut. For example, I believe you'll find the 12pt...

    ChadsToolbox Review

I placed my first and last order with them in May. I always use KCtool for German tools, but they were out of stock, so I gave chads a try. After 20+ days without a shipping notification I sent an Email asking what was up. I got no response, but my order shipped the next day. Lost my business...

    Tool box drawer dividers: Suggestions?

I made these to sort my junk drawer out. Built from 1 x .125" flat stock. Cut half way through at the joints with a cut off wheel and slotted together. A tack weld at the bottom locks the joint. The whole thing lifts out of the drawer if I change things around.

Do you Gojo to clean hands (dirt under fingernails level of dirty) ?

I work for a large printing company as a pressman. They have gojo dispensers all over the place, and it's fine for the general production workers, but it's worthless for the guys that work with ink all day. We either use mean green or blue coral. Both are excellent, super pumice heavy...

    Westling Machine Anodized Socket Trays

Thank you. It's been something like 8 years since I built that, but I do still use it. I don't recall exactly how much time I spent on it, but unless you really like building this kind of thing, or you want a custom arrangement, it's probably a good choice to just buy the ones in this thread...

    GearWrench Survey

I'll use my 8mm or 10mm to break stuff loose. The larger ones usually don't offer enough leverage to easily break things loose though and I just use a long handled ratchet or breaker. I do occasionally use them for re-assembly though.
