"The Most Trusted Jack On The Market"

Kid could've at least thrown the tire under the frame. You might **** yourself, but it may keep you alive.

Need advice on my recent tool sale on eBay

And if he does pick up, I would print the paypal receipt and have him sign it to the effect that he did pick up the item, no returns are accepted, and that he is accepting the item in the condition received. CYA.

    snap on gloves

I have both of these -- they are good, not great. I use them for front end work stuff, where I am banging my hands around more. Not so great for more detailed work like turning small nuts.

Asking to buy tools not for sale

Talk to him about it -- tell him you are planning to buy tools anyway, and you would rather keep the money in the family. He may or may not let you pay him. If he doesn't, make it up in yard work or car repair stuff -- grandma needs new tires? You handle it. They have an old TV that is not...

    Fluid Disposal

Okay, so a few phone calls later, I found out my county does have a hazardous waste recycle day -- they just can't tell when the next one will be. Sort of a pain in the ***. Maybe I'll just take one of my Travis County friends down there with me. Pffffft.

    Fluid Disposal

Yea, but I am technically not in Travis County, so they may not be so cool about it. My county doesn't have anything like this that I can find.

    Fluid Disposal

Around here, the local parts stores will recycle oil. Nobody will take antifreeze, brake fluid, hydro, etc. Any resources I am missing? What do you all do?

Craftsman 3 pc. Pry Bar Set in Tray $16.99

Used my set this weekend to pry struts out of the knuckles on one of my cars. Are they fancy and all super technical and made with Russian titanium? Nope. Effective? Sure thing, and for $26 bucks (had to pay shipping), I am pretty pleased with them.

    Pliers rack (Plyworx/SnapOn PLR30) $10.35 ea or Grip Tools 57000 for $5.94

Quick heads up on Skygeek -- for one rack shipped to me in Texas, the shipping was almost 18 bucks with no cheaper options. Deal killer for me.

    The complete metric wrench set

Some Volvo tie rods need a 21 (or 22, I forget) too. The axle nut is an odd size too, I forget what though. Nothing more frustrating than not having a tool when you need it.

    Selling moral question

I was selling a Chevy truck on CL last year -- wanted 2500 for it. Guy #1 came and saw it, liked it, negotiated a price on it ($2200), told me he would call the next day to exchange truck/cash. Told me to pull the CL ad -- I told it ain't over till cash changes hands. Never heard back from...

    Hey ya'll

Just thought I would introduce myself -- I live near Austin, Tx. Been working on cars since I got a '66 Mustang in high school, and later a GTO. I still enjoy working on cars, just sort of therapeutic. Mainly it is my an old Volvo lately -- different animal, but fun to learn new things. I...

    Strong Hold Locker Question

I am pretty set on buying one....big question is how am I going to move it? Seriously. That thing is like 600 pounds. Any ideas short of investing in a very heavy duty dolly/truck. Anybody got some redneck engineering ideas?

    Bought my Porcelain!

Dumb question -- can you use a floor like this with jacks and jackstands? I have just started looking at some different options, but have not considered this type of tile.
