    Lakeside Garage

I went to the local Home Hardware building Centre to see if they had Smart Panel. They said they can get it and but also showed me a plywood product they stock @ $32.00/sheet. Its exterior grade plywood with some shallow groves cut into it. It may be OK on a garden shed or something small, but...

    Lakeside Garage

That smart panel stuff looks interesting. I looked it up on the web, but the manufacturer's website is more marketing than substance. I'm building a 35x40 garage right now. The walls are up and sheeted outside with OSB. Plan is to put vinyl board and batten siding on it, but I'm not big on...

    Garage in Winterland...with attached house

Just wondering why you chose an electric boiler for the garage in-floor heat instead of natural gas. Here in Ontario, electricity is by far the most expensive heat while NG is the least expensive. Unless electric is cheap where you are. We just bought a place where I can build a garage and it...

A new home for my classic GMC motorhome

Mine was a Palm Beach.. you can still see spots with the original green colours. Just about any place we stop people come up and give us complements on it. Its going to be great to have a place where I can work on it. It's covered in snow now, I can't wait to get it in and out of the elements.

A new home for my classic GMC motorhome

Building a RV / workshop garage in Ont. Canada

I don't have my variance approved yet, just a warm and fuzzy feeling from them that there is no reason why it should not be approved. It needs to goto Council to be approved, then the neighbours get 20 days to object. Since the closest neighbours are several hundred feet away and will not be...

I introduced myself last week in the Newby forum with the following: Hi all. My wife and I have a conditional offer on a home with 2.5 acres. Our only condition is the Township will allow us to construct a RV garage/ workshop with room also for lawn tractor & equipment etc. We looking at about...

Building a RV / workshop garage in Ont. Canada

Thanks for your advice. Its zoned Rural Residential, so there are lots of farms in the area. Lots of tress as well, I can't see the neighbours for the trees, or the road either. Where I am looking to build it is 30ft from the lot line (exceeds the 1.5m. requirement) and about 170 ft from the...
