    One year later 40'x80'

Do you do suspension stuff? Nothing crazy like rock crawler stuff, just a solid axle put under a 2wd truck and 4 link in the rear? If you do, is there a company name I could add to my contact list for when I get to that point. Im a bit away from that point, but judging by your shop, your not...

Need a temporary floor for a gravel floored pole building

I am in the same boat as you and am looking for solutions to this My concern would be with using jack stands or a jack and putting divets in the plywood. Specially an engine crane where you would want to roll it Worse yet the one day you put that jack stand down and the two legs land right in...

Gas company wont let me rough in for future shop

Granted every thing is code dependent and my situation was on a much smaller scale. When I connected my house and garage (20') we had a local gas company make the pipe for us with two steel risers on either end and the plastic pipe they use for gas lines. If you have one of these made (doesn't...

    "bomb shelter" for my mail

I have been reading the posts and not sure if you have figured out your break away problem or not... But if I may make a suggestion... Use some square tubing as the post. Some big thick heavy stuff that will take a nudge from a car (not a full blown hit) or a baseball hat. How ever, just above...

Turning my 24x30 Garage into a Shop...

Why do you not dig the trench your self for the gas line? For those qoutes, and what should be WELL under a grand, you can easily rent a ride ditch witch. Trench what you can with that, hand dig the rest that runs over the utility lines. A ditch witch wouldn't take more then a couple hours to...

    Finishing my garage

Hm, I was afraid that you might have built those directly off the 2x4 walls. I am trying to get approval for this idea right now, but I would be building the the other way I had mentioned. I think with 2x6 and 3 lag bolts to each vertical 2x4 i should be ok... but i still like how you did it...

NEW build 36 x 50 garage (hot rod shop)

Wondered the exact same thing... haha THIS is amazing. Next to their craftsmanship, and balls of steel, this takes some AMAZING skill. Not only are they 10 feet up on scaffolding, but the one guy on the edge is well over 20 feet off the ground... Bet OSHA loves these guys ;)

    Finishing my garage

XcYZ, The shelves are brilliant, so brilliant infact, I see some being fabricated in my garage. I really wish i could put into words how much I like those shelves and please take my "copy cat" attempt as a form of flattery. Before i launch into my attempt i would like to pick your brain for a...

    Retrofit insulation?

Two VERY different construation methods of the homes here. Up North where you are (i am originally from Edmonton as well) the homes have siding or stucco in the older homes with some sort of plywood underneath it which is easy to get to when attachting foam ontop with the intention of putting...

    Retrofit insulation?

Living in Vegas i can tell you that the northern method of applying foam to the outside of the home when putting new siding on won't work, as that would be the first thing i would have suggested. Other then that, i am currently in the same boat as you. I live with my old man and in the process...
