Black and decker weed eater finally died, what should I get next?

That old shaft that fits the new trimmer now has a brush blade kit on it. Almost like a miter saw on a stick. Should do the trick.

Black and decker weed eater finally died, what should I get next?

Got the Ryobi 40V. Was expecting it to be a disappointment but it's a beast. Realized later my old gas trimmer that was no longer fixable was a Ryobi and the shaft attachment fit the 40V. No more fuel treatment, always runs, can sit in the shed for a year and will run with a fresh battery. No...

    Oil resistant spray bottle

There is a white and blue spray bottle with WD40 printed on it on Amazon. Material stated is PTFE which might hold up to solvent and oil better than milk bottle plastic.

    Drain old compressor?

FWIW, I have a similar Craftsman compressor (that I rarely drain to be honest). My biggest issue is broken connecting rod/piston assemblies.

    Plastic Fuel tank Repair

There are plastic repair kits available, they come with a mixed bag of success. I did read that there are no more available, but I betcha you could find something close enough to work. Maybe used on ePay.

    Portable Generator Battery Ideas

I have installed inexpensive solar charger panels on various pieces of equipment that sit outside for maintaining charge and they do help. On the fleet of Honda 7000 gens at work, they all have been converted to a lithium start battery which hold a charge well. On those same gens we have fitted...

    ODB Scanner Recommendations?

Sometimes devices, app and phone age can be a factor. Has your phone had recent updates? Can you reload the Torque app? I recently got the Gearwrench scanner module. Still learning but easy to use.

    Sandblast cabinet gun replacement

Are you using a foot valve for control? If so, make sure it is not a restriction when open, limiting your available flow. The valve needs to flow better than the nozzle to keep up.

    Sandblast cabinet gun replacement

If you do a lot of blasting, the carbide nozzles do wear longer. The sad truth about sandblasting, part of the cost, is what wears or consumed inside the cabinet. Everything can be worn or affected, just a matter of time. Windows, seals, grates, lights and fixtures etc.

    Sandblast cabinet gun replacement

Sounds like you are on the right track. The idea with the pick up tube is to mix air at the entrance of the tube so the media won't plug the tube and lose suction. Is your rig adjustable there? You may be able to adjust the "jet" front to back a bit to tune the suction a bit as well. On some...

    Sandblast cabinet gun replacement

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of pick up tube is being used? Is it metal or plastic/rubber? What media and size are you using?

    Sandblast cabinet gun replacement

Before you buy another gun, make sure the pickup tube is clear with no holes and your media is dry and with no lumps or debris

    Airens Snow blower carb.

If the float is brass, drill a hole in it to drain the fuel. Clean the seam around the float and the area around the drilled hole. With a soldering iron (no flame) flow solder around the seam and fill the drilled hole. Allow to cool and leak test by immersing in warm water.

Can I repair a floppy-head Craftsman flex ratchet, or is it rebuild time?

Is the ratchet still made? Check Lowes or Ace Hardware (unless something has changed) for a warranty exchange.

Lighted TEXACO letters - how would you do it?

Red lamps help avoid hot spots white light could give, so if you retrofit to LED, get red ones. LED tape and strips are used at work. I do not do the engineering on them but the strips and tape require power supplies. The tape can be cut to length (at a designated cut line) and joined for extra...

12" Delta compound saw for cutting brick

I bought a cheap tile saw at HD years ago. Cuts tile, brick, block, concrete pavers. The trick is to go slow and on some items you will have to make front and back cuts to get thru thicker ones. Oh, and plan on getting wet, but for a few cuts here and there, it works.
