Id really run from aluminum. There’s a good reason they’re old school. Metal transmit any temperature very easily. So often with the rt temp and interior humidity, you’ll have frost inside on those metal frames.

If it’s against block, your on track with caulk. Great adhesive. Do one wall at a time and hold in place til it dries by running sticks from the opposite wall. Cut down some 2x4s to like 1/2” x 3/4 for both strength and flex.

I wouldn’t say it’s ugly but definitely looks like a add on. I think I’d see a architect or someone in the design field to see if there was some possibility of tweaking your design to bring it all together a bit better. Good luck.
