Thanks. I use all the steel finishes and rust oxidizers from Metal Finishes Plus. For gloss and semi gloss I use Finish1 Clear. For the real true satin or matte I have to use SpraxMax 2K as I haven't the spray gun skills to make it come out like I want in bulk yet.

I picked up a used CS Unitec burnisher for a good price. A little cleanup and a new cord was all that it needed. As most know these are $850 plus for a Metabo or CS. But boy howdy are these consumables spendy.

Small project- knocked together a stand for some PB Swiss. .060 5052 and 1" plywood drops. Should have drilled the holes a little smaller for the smallest screwdrivers, oh well maybe I'll run across a bushing sometime.

Drill Press Vise Handle Mod Idea Help

I went with the below solution. Machined some hex stock and alignment pin, welded on the end. Can use my saltus wrench I keep around for hold down clamps, spin it with my fingers or put the barbell back in. It was my first machining job, parts came out within .006" of target and .003" of each...

Drill Press Vise Handle Mod Idea Help

Folks, I've got 2 nice Wilton drill press vises, that have the same limitation. When fastened to the table of my drill press, there is no swing for the handle. I am looking for any pics or advice of things you may have done. I am looking to maybe get some help from a machinist friend to turn...

Anyone Have a Lista Technician Series Toolbox? - Industrial Toolbox Recommendation

I have 31' of modern Lista, tagged here by LXCam. The DW series is what you are asking for, but the drawers do rack if not pushed in the center. You can buy a lista "toolbox" or pick your own config and build a "mobile cabinet". All of mine are mobile cabinets. My overall opinion is they were...

Thanks Mike- luckily it already has 1 small apprentice mark on the table so that's out of the way already!

Had an Ellis drill press on my dance card for 2025. I came across a deal on an older 2005 model used, it pretty good shape, so I jumped on it. Just a little wipe down and lube. It's a monster. I await a real dolly and nicer chucks in the mail this week. Saved over 50% of a new one, so that will...

Got the desk project assembled and the wood came in for that. Tough to take pics in my house as it's small with terrible lighting. Going to switch over my stuff and move it into the final spot Monday evening.

Got my wood in and finished up a little swap on my dining table ( older project, new top ) and side table I just made legs for.

Got some patina and satin clear on my parts. As with all large/complicated patina jobs, there are some spots I'm not too fond of and some that came out way different in a good way, just how it goes. I really like doing the patinas though. And the obligatory defect in the clear that I'm sure only...

It's a very nice made in USA tool. However the "straight finger conversion" where they claim you can bend .125" is pretty much bunk so far.

Please recommend torx screwdrivers for me

PB Swiss can be had around 75. That's the closest you are going to get with this set of parameters.

Slapped this together quick. A 2x4' heavy gauge expanded metal table, with bolt on legs so I can knock it down if wanted. My desire was something light I could take outside for a quick patina, paint or slap a piece of ply on it for chop saw stand, throw it in the pickup for a quick weld job at a...

Put together a quick set of square table legs for a future side table build. I want to patina them at the same time as my desk frame. It will have stretchers made of cherry between each leg.
