yes cybrdyke, they were old i think about 8 to 10 years old. the fixtures were 4 foot 2 bulb with the old magnetic ballast is what i was told. dont know anything about ballast. and the bulbs were 40 or 50 watt. not sure i gave them all away. all i know is it is so bright now and i am in my shop...

i just got these and love them. so far it look like everyone that is trying them love them and you cant beat the price at all. i have 80 bulbs in my shop and i think it is brighter than the sun in there. and i have no shadows when i work or move around. here is a link on what i used. 3000 lumens...
