I agree with the a majority of posters and say a 110v 140 amp machine will fit the bill nicely for dam near all home and light commercial work. Prices are reasonable and consumables are available. Another buying option is a used trade in/up or refurbished machine from the local welding supply...

I have the Hozan ones for maintenance on my Japanese stuff , they are pretty decent for the cost , more than adequate for home or occasional commercial use. If I was working in power equipment repair I might opt for a Vessel set to get nicer handles but not a huge issue. Sent from my E6782...
