Auto mechs, how often do you use deep sockets? Would you miss them?

If someone had zero sockets starting out and asked me what they should get, I'd probably recommend they buy semi deeps then go from there. They either weren't a thing or I didn't know about them when I started.

Auto mechs, how often do you use deep sockets? Would you miss them?

I don't own semi deeps but if it's a nut I'm grabbing the deep and if it's a bolt I'm grabbing the standard. Generally speaking. I couldn't get along with just standards.

Thoughts on a Ryobi Impact and Compressor for College bound Daughter

I mean kidnapping someone is kind of a matter of survival. Especially if they're scrappy.

Thoughts on a Ryobi Impact and Compressor for College bound Daughter

Damn I don't have any of that in my pickup. I do have jumper cables and a spare fuel filter. And some kitkat wrappers.

I get it it's just pretty cheesy looking for hand tools. It's not a huge deal to keep discussing I was just making an off hand comment about it.

That's kind of my point. No packaging would be better. The blister pack makes it like a cowboy and indians play set at dollar tree. Most hand tools are just hanging on a peg plain.

Thoughts on a Ryobi Impact and Compressor for College bound Daughter

I like my jumper cables but they're useless when you don't have another operational vehicle handy. I have 2 boost packs for my semi truck and at least 3 hanging around for cars.

The blister pack isn't doing their image any favors. If they had an image in the first place.

I can't speak to those tools but I have enough Ryobi that I keep in my semi truck that it makes me consider adding their impact as well. My stuff currently consists of a drill, bolt cutters, and an angle grinder.

Snap on has margins. They're not trying to make simple small cheap things at high volume. That's what 6 year olds in China are for.

Let's not forget hex wrenches have become basically a filler piece count tool in mega sets. To the point they'll give you 2 sets of SAE and 2 sets of Metric and count each hex wrench to get that number as high as possible. They're not exactly a revered tool to the average person.

How thick metal can a dremel tool cutting wheel cut?

It's the same as a cutting disk for an angle grinder, just smaller and thinner. It'll wear away to nothing.

When all that's left is the bore, time to replace. 😃

How thick metal can a dremel tool cutting wheel cut?

Lol the bolts were seized in the sleeves so it was a by any means necessary type dealio.

How thick metal can a dremel tool cutting wheel cut?

Yeah it ended up being a job for the fire wrench.

How thick metal can a dremel tool cutting wheel cut?

I tried using my Dremel on shock eyelets and it didn't do much of anything. The little cutoff disk snapped before it made much more than a little nick in the metal.🤷

A two axle will be a lot easier to tow. It'll be more stable.
