    Plug wired to compressor

A 50a 250v welder plug will absolutely work with an average air compressor. I did it for a long time. Code and what mechanically works are two different things. My WABCO compressor has a 5hp baldor motor rated at around 27.5 amps. It is also a 184 frame with a 1.375" shaft.....it is an older...

Noted for future dream shop build: Makinex 32kW Generator

My tig welder is 460 amps and is 104 amps on 230v single phase.....yes, 230v. It is a 1963 miller 330abp I have considered the everlast typhoon 330 as it can do more with the amperage than older machines. Many other pros even use them at home and dynasty at work, while other pros use the...

Re-Surface Nasty Rough Painted Existing Stucco Exterior Walls

The color coat can be sand blasted off and new color applied, if traditional stucco. Elastameric paint is thick and can help fill the pores, but takes a big airless to spray and would have to be back rolled. Stucco holds up just fine with a proper paint job and drainage. I have painted and...

    Recommend a parts washer PUMP

can the first pump.be taken apart to see if the seals are standard orings or something special? Orings come in quite a few materials and could probably be upgraded. I'm not sure if those are diaphragm pumps and that is failing, so maybe there isn't any hope for them.

    Recommend a parts washer PUMP

Curtis feom cutting edge engineering youtube channel used a big diesel pump in his recent. He uses jet a fuel. He has only had it for a matter of months I would guess. He mentioned the cost of the pump......it is a lot....I don't remember exactly. Are you running the pump with constant flow or...

Milwaukee M12 Cut Off Tool - Sheet Metal Frustration

Use a circular saw and metal cutting blade.....they are about 30 bucks at home depot and I have cut 1/4" plate with my m18 6.5" milwaukee cordless.

Moving a mini ex short distances

We have wheeled excavators in SoCal, but I have only seen the a few times on freeway projects. They certainly aren't popular and I have read that they don't have much capacity or have other downfalls to where they aren't very desirable. A rotating excavator bucket, on the other hand, would be...

Moving a mini ex short distances

Just the tip, but for an hour......the tip of the tooth kept the 8k pound mini ex in place until it fell......5 times. There wasn't much for it to hang on to and it was a long way out of the LA river, up that steep bank, and out to the lay down area. When it would drop, my coworker would get in...

Who has a well priced drill bit set now?

Noresman and viking certainly are the same. I'm not sure about the latter.

Rotary phase converter to 3 phase equipment

My pickup takes 2.5 gallons.......it might be right in some cases. 😁 After I posted that, I was thinking that AI is hit or miss. Yes, Unfortunately we have to weed out the BS from AI just as we do with humans. I'm not a fan of AI, but it pops up at the top of search results. So, I use it to...

Rotary phase converter to 3 phase equipment

You coud have googled that! I highlighted your request and hit search, on my phone in the firefox browser. Google AI explained it at the top of the page, fairly well. You would learn a little more about what you are dealing with. Some people are too lazy to do any reading on their own, or...

Who has a well priced drill bit set now?

Yep, I have the same set from above and bought a bunch of replacements, which HJE has as well, and they had the uncoated taps for a good price. My taps are noreseman/viking as well......spiral point (pushes chips forward) for machines. Spiral taps are on my wish list for blind holes (chips come...

Rotary phase converter to 3 phase equipment

Odds are you will need NEMA L15-30P Assuming you are running low voltage 3 phase. https://www.amazon.com/Leviton-2721-3-phase-Industrial-Grounding/dp/B0015O77OW?tag=atomicindus08-20 My tools are direct wired to vfds and are wired to run on low voltage 3ph 240v. Check the specs and...

how many sharpenings can you get out of a chainsaw chain?

The stihl tripple file works well for me. It is angled with guide marks and takes down rakers at the same time. Farmcraft 101 has great videos on sharpening. I keep 2 chains on hand and swap them, then clamp the saw in a vise by the bar, when I sharpen. I have been cleaning up one big property...

    Best Tool for Weld Prep?

If by band file, you mean belt sander, I have an astro pneumatics 1/2 x 18 that I bought to clean weld seams inside square tube for parts used to build my 3hp 2x72 belt grinder. It isn't something I use often and is better for detailed areas an angle grinder doesn't work for. Right over my...

    Best Tool for Weld Prep?

Flap wheels on an air angled die grinder used to be how I did a lot of prep. A real 3hp air compressor will not keep up, unless your hoses are restricted or the tool is small. My real 5hp 20 cfm compressor does keep up very well. By accident, I ended up with a makita 4" angle grinder. Now, I...

220 volt 50 amp welder ext cord price ?

I commented that I'm very aware when unplugging 240v cords, but it obviously had nothing to do with the voltage but rather the style and given downsides of the 6-50p. It would be easy to wrap my fingers further under the plug to get a better grip while removing it, but my brain says...

220 volt 50 amp welder ext cord price ?

Some of us use our brains more and realize we are unplugging a 240v plug and pay close attention to how we do it. 220v hasn't been used in decades here and the hardware is actually classified 250v. I have only been shocked once by electrical main power (phone lines have been exciting in the past...
