What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Took the time to tackle some of the mess that has become my shop. Afterwards, fired up a new project and started tearing down and stripping a craftsman 1/2 hp motor for repaint/rewire. Somehow in its previous life it had become packed with mud. Unsure if today’s net result is a cleaner shop or...

Restoring my two vintage Blackhawk toolboxes

Agreed, this has been an excellent follow. The end result is stunning, and I love the pop of red from the tray! I may have to rethink my next repaint.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Pawed through enough of my lamp hardware to cobble a light onto an old mic stand. Portable task lighting achieved!

    Sheetmetal Equipment restoration/preservation/maintenance

Lovely work, there! Looking forward to seeing what you make with them. Most of what I use are woodworking tools where any kind of thick or synthetic rust preventative might ruin a project finish. That said, I usually use paste wax for "precision" or high use areas, and paraffin (Gulf) wax...

    Show your "Long C" Craftsman!

macgee: I have hammer envy... Dug this out for pictures. Drill press hold-down box is appropriate, but the hold-down itself is not marked at all. Am I wrong in thinking the gold would have been a later color? Picked up the saw a couple weeks ago at an estate sale. Looks to be in ok shape, and...

    2019 Garage Sale Thread

HA! Oak_park, I'm going to have to "forget" I read that. The local Sears Hometown has changed hands a couple times, and may not be long for this world. From a couple sales this morning: Craftsman long C auger bit set Snap set and snaps Aluminum Lufkin folding rule S-K 9/16 combination wrench...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Tried to beat the heat in the garage before work this morning, but it beat me back. Made up some quick shop drawer labels, swept up, and decided I was done in there for the day.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced my table saw arbor bearings. While the table was off I went ahead and swapped out the old v-belts for some new cogged ones as well.
