Torch the washer before you try with lower power tools The washer seizes, causing much of the frustration with these. Even a little propane torch for 5 or 10 mins will help. After that the lisle socket and a decent 1/2 will do it no problem

Put a 4' pipe on the breaker bar and try that first. If it breaks, it breaks.

Oil the feeder, not just down the fitting If it still doesn't feed properly something is wrong with it. Even cheap framing nailers work fine for a decent period of time. I use one probably 20 or 30 times a year and a Campbell hausfeld lasted 5 years for me

How thicker the sheathing? You can use 3/4" roofing nails,but your fingers will feel it

Some stuff warranties are important. I wear out 18mm impact swivels pretty often,couple a year.

You might,or might not find that the sockets you upgrade to fit any better. Inconsistent fastener sizes is as much of a problem as I'll fitting sockets. Maximum stuff isn't bad fit wise so I doubt you'll notice the difference. Gray ratchets are nothing special,just very heavy duty.

I use a 3/8 adapter in my Ridgid brushless driver. The Milwaukee adapters are very short,seem to hold up.

Yeah Robertson is 90% of deck screws up here. We can get torx ones,but Robertson is the norm. They go in fine, usually come out 10 or 15 years later.

Re: Which is stronger? Milwaukee 18V Fuel 1/2" Impact or a 25" Breaker bar ? I did that, I have the big 3/4drive bar from PA. Haven't managed to break that yet. Usually to big, but when it fits it hasn't failed yet.

Re: Which is stronger? Milwaukee 18V Fuel 1/2" Impact or a 25" Breaker bar ? I have sheared off lots of 1/2"breaker bar heads, usually undoing frozen stuff on old trucks. 250lbman jumping on the bar usually does one of 2 things, so I figure the realistic limit is in the 450/500lb-ft range

4 I use a lot of those screws as well, I can't imagine the hassle of trying to use any socket here. Just the lack of a magnet would make it an exercise in futility.
