    So, basically I am down to 2 options: 2-2-2-4 or 2/0-2/0-1-4 for about $.86/ft more ...about $135 more total for the run. 2-2-2-4 might be just right..... 2/0 is definitely more than enough. Any opinions?

    Questions on 100 amp main breaker panel for detached garage

    So the voltage drop calculator shows a 4% drop over 150 ft. at full 100 amp load for #2 aluminum. To get under 3% the load has to be 75 amps. This brings me back to my other thread... would #2 aluminum be sufficient for a hobby workshop or do I need to upsize?

    The run is right around 150' so voltage drop would be over 3% with 2 guage wire... giving more like 75 amps. Real loads would be lights on while running a 220v 15 amp table saw at the same time as a 220v 15 amp dust collector. I may put in a 220v compressor and get a welder some day, but...
