Well. I feel silly. I'll redo this when I get home in a few days. Which app are you using?

Forget Shoplights!! LED strips inside of the Ceiling Joists

I am going to do something similar for any extra lighting I need, like in the attic. Your idea sounds like a winner. I may end up doing that. I second the motion on posting some pictures.

Forget Shoplights!! LED strips inside of the Ceiling Joists

I was at a brand new compressor rebuilding facility and I noticed they have LED lights installed. I took this reading. It's really bright in here too.

Forget Shoplights!! LED strips inside of the Ceiling Joists

There are a few reviews on amazon that show those power adapters burning up/ melting, etc; and I wasn't thrilled about that. They are undersized for a 16ft roll and I would need one for every light run. I also didn't want to have low frequency led blinking as seen on Christmas lights (video...

Forget Shoplights!! LED strips inside of the Ceiling Joists

I haven't found any thing, but I understand the concern. I had the same but couldn't find any data on this instance. If you find anything, post it here for everyone's knowledge.

Forget Shoplights!! LED strips inside of the Ceiling Joists

I guess I'll pack up my tools and start using my workshop as a storage shed. You got any space in your "bright as the sun" workshop? Lol:bounce:

Those are the ones I used I believe. Very cheap "bulb" replacement.

Forget Shoplights!! LED strips inside of the Ceiling Joists

Agreed, LED run cool if proper voltage and amperage are available at the strips. I can hold these in between my most sensitive falangies. I guess any electricity being encased in wood could be a problem but then again, electrical wires are ran through wood wall studs everyday. All electricity...

Forget Shoplights!! LED strips inside of the Ceiling Joists

So here is the LUX reading. It was a free app. I just walked around my shop for 1 minute holding my phone stretched out at about 4 feet high. Regardless of what the reading is, it is really bright. I guess one downside is that you need to wear a hat. The lights are so bright that it hurts to...

Forget Shoplights!! LED strips inside of the Ceiling Joists

Everything's running great. I really don't even think about it since I haven't had to mess with it since it was installed. I have another power supply that I haven't used yet. I'm working on wiring the lights in the attic space currently.

Forget Shoplights!! LED strips inside of the Ceiling Joists

Yes it was a mess. I used clear tape to attach my vacuum hose after a few passes. The keyhole bit doesn't clear shavings from the hole very well.

Oh hey! What's up! I'm still here. I did take the measurements. I'll have to look back at my screenshots. Or download the LUX app again.

Shed/workshop insulation and air conditioning questions

I have always wondered why a metal tin roof isn't its own radiant barrier. Why would thin foil block radiant heat better than thick sheet metal tin. I guess the key is in the air gap? If so, why have foil backed OSB? I tried to find IR images of before and after foil barrier. Preferrable in the...

Shed/workshop insulation and air conditioning questions

I've witnessed at least two applications of double bubble foil, one in a metal shop about 30x50 and another under carport with a metal roof. During full Louisiana summer sun, a metal carport with no insulation gets hot whether the wind is blowing or not. With the double bubble foil it felt a...

Shed/workshop insulation and air conditioning questions

For some reason all items aren't available to every home depot store. I guess they have regional contracts with certain items, or something like that. It may also be that foam board insulation isn't used very often in my area because the temp rarely drops below 30F. I've seen snow on the ground...
