    A lot of LED cans

White ceiling for sure, not sure of the wall yet but a light color. I stuck one in a temp socket yesterday and hung it at the ceiling. Looked pretty good considering it was all of 11.9 watts. This afternoon I strung up the first row of 9 cans and put 4 LEDs in to get a better feel. Did a temp...

    A lot of LED cans

I am currently working on lighting a 17' wide bay. 12 foot ceilings and 38 feet deep. Got a look at Home Desperate stuff and they have 6" cans to rough in at very close to $6.00 each. Add to that they have 65 watt EQ 3000k LED retrofits for $9.96 each. Nothing else needed. Retro has a screw in...

    Portable Scaffold

I got two sets from Home Desperate. Not a lot of money. They are currently in the garage waiting for me to start the ceiling. When the time comes I will span the two of them with planks to have a 16' x 6' rolling work platform.

    Long overdue garage project

11 08 Progress report. I spent most of the good weather of 07 at autocross and started back on the house late in November, that’s just the way it worked out. I built 7 sets of stairs in the house and just after New Years wifey could walk into the addition and walk upstairs too. Spring of 08 I...

    Long overdue garage project

The garage doors were installed on Thursday. The two man crew arrived at 9:30 and were done by 1:00. Later that day I brought the SL55 home for the first time since October, and programmed all cars for the openers. The doors are made by Garaga in Canada I think. A view of the front. The...

    Long overdue garage project

Last Saturday BobK sent a crew over to tie in the waste line from the garage, and prep for the apron in front of the garage. They also leveled and compacted the driveway. I had scheduled concrete work for the apron, AC condenser pads, and generator pads to be done Tuesday afternoon. My concrete...

I can’t have all bad luck. I got a bid from a slab man that came highly recommended. He came to the site and said he would get right back to me. Two days later I call him, yup, get right back. After four days and another call I got my bid. $11,500.00 for the work. Hmm….it’s a one day job for a...

    Long overdue garage project

Warm weather progress. I took advantage of a warm Saturday to strip the tarp and pop out the dormers. The side walls and trusses were upstairs and all I needed was to frame the end walls and go for it. It was a very productive day starting at 7:30 AM and stopping a bit after 5:00 PM. A lot of...

    Long overdue garage project

The second turkey concrete company is behind me now and things are starting to roll. I have decided to fill the holes and cut the opening myself because I just don’t want any more losers here. We finished erecting the trusses on Friday and on Saturday two of my men got one side of the roof...

any way to seal dusty concrete?

Find out why it is dusting. Usually caused by poorly cured concrete. Get something and scrape a small area. If you can easily dig in the surface is soft, hence the continous dusting. Don't have an answer though.:lol_hitti

The "M" House - Razed and Rebuilt Detached Carriage House/Barn - Start to Finish

Re: The "M" House - Razed and Rebuilt Detached Carriage House/Barn - Start to Finish E I used to drive Lime Rock and NHMS until April 07. Had to give it up for a while for health reasons. (all set now) Because of that I got addicted to autocross last summer, and because I was new I ended up as...

Re: The "M" House - Razed and Rebuilt Detached Carriage House/Barn - Start to Finish Awsome build. I'm envious because mine won't be finished for at least a year more. I did not go to O fest but had some friends that did. A friend on mine set up the autocross course. Alex from the Boston...

    Compressor and Air line questions

I used hundreds of feet of schedule 80 PVC at work with no issues at all. Parts of the system have been in use for close to 25 years now. Main line is 2" black iron.
