    Push-Lok Trust & Faith?

Had four fitting fail simultaneously. All I did was touch one hose and they all started leaking at the fitting to hose connection. I tried to re heat all the line in boiling water to reseat. Actually made it MUCH worse. Had the fittings on for four years and never had an issue until 4 failed all...

2010 International DuraStar Super Pickup build.

Thought about filling them with lead shot. I worry about the concrete causing corrosion inside the tube.

    Show us your welding projects

95/5 is a commonly avaible gas mix. I use that or 92/8 for GMAW-P with dual shield wire. My local Airgas stocks both. The more argon in the mix the less it strains the welder on the inductive load when starting the arc. No so important with .030 wire, but it becomes more necessary when you spray...

2010 International DuraStar Super Pickup build.

Worked on the truck today. I got the plate steel mounted up on the rails and tacked up. After that I pulled it back off to weld. I always try to use a machine to do the heavy lifting and positioning of materials. Not getting any younger.

2010 International DuraStar Super Pickup build.

Started working on the bed mounting system. Getting to use my new welder quite a bit now. I previously had an Everlast. I much prefer this Lincoln. Just not into Inverter welders. Please be easy on the welds. I am by no means a welder, but I try. I'm running it with Dual Shield wire with...

2010 International DuraStar Super Pickup build.

Thought it would be cool to start a thread about my current project. The truck is not mine however I'm doing the build. Truck started life as a Palm County First responder vehicle in south Florida. This configuration makes it a perfect candidate for the build. Most of these trucks have a...

Do They Not Sell Tools in New York, Particularly NYC

I use to go to Cook Iron when I lived in NY. They always had everything I needed. Between them Admar, and Duke(formerly volvo) I could get any tool I needed for all the jobs I did as a general contractor

    Favorite Harbor Freight tool

My Orange grinder that I bought back in 2006. I bought it because I wanted to use it for one job of chasing out mortar joints on a block wall resto job. I didnt want to use my good makitas because of the heavy dusting....Figured the grinder would only last that job. Well Im still using it today...

    Wasted money on tools

Seems to me the guy must only wrench on his own stuff. If your tools only need to support one vehicle you don't need much, but if you see a wide variety of cars, trucks, and equipment you need lots of tools. I'd like to see that guy do a undercarriage overhaul on a dozer with his 1/2 and 3/8ths...

    Snap on cutters stiff.....problem solved

Back when I was a rod buster we use to loosen up our fresh pairs of Klein's by rubbing some valve lapping compound into the hinge. You then work the pliers for a while and flush out the compound with some WD40. Made for a very smooth action pliers. Very important when your using a pair for 10-12...

    Costco Subaru-Powered pressure washer

I've had a Subaru powered Ryobi Power washer that I have used commercially for years. I bought it expecting it to be a stop gap solution and yet its still going. The motor is great. Starts easy and has never giving me any trouble. The rest of the washer is ok, I had to replace the wand with a...

Which impact sockets to have ?

I work on trucks and heavy equipment and I use the HF Pro impacts. I have no problems with them at all. That being said I wouldn't use any of their other sockets. The regular impacts are total junk. But the pro's look very similar to Sunex. They handle rusted cruded up fasteners just fine. I use...

Kastar 971 Rethread Set...Or Snap On

That makes a lot of sense to do it that way. The 100% Snap On markup is more than the cost of replacing a reasonable amount of the tools. Which would come from Snap On any how Thanks to everyone for the advice
