Anyone go straight to cordless tools vs pneumatic tools?

If I were going to replace any of my air tools with electric I would use 115V corded units. Why lug batteries around when AC is available near by?

My attempt to make a better hose coupler

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YnW0ioLBB4M" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> I had to make one last post. In this video, I asked my partner Justin Medlin to demo an air ratchet connected to a Goodyear whip hose via...

My attempt to make a better hose coupler

I appreciate your comments. My law firm has been doing quite well off of us, thank you:( When I started this thread I was just having fun teaching my apprentice about product design and manufacturing and this thread documents a fair amount of it.

My attempt to make a better hose coupler

Thank you very much for the support. I showed this post to my associates to make them smile and all of them did except for Deb who predictably said "but he didn't place an order did he?":)

My attempt to make a better hose coupler

Since BOB15 has been asking a lot of questions and knows who I am, I have a question for Bob. Who do you work for?

My attempt to make a better hose coupler

I just found this post so sorry for the delay. Let me start by saying I don't answer these types of questions. I design all my devices to operate within certain parameters. I would be happy to supply temperature and pressure ratings.

My attempt to make a better hose coupler

I feel insulted to have my orbitals compared to those you listed. There is no comparison really other then spherical surfaces and pipe threads. I am familiar with most of the ones you listed and have tested them. I have yet to find one that swivels freely at pressures that people actually use...

My attempt to make a better hose coupler

Here is a short video I shot moments ago to demonstrate that I actually use these things and have been for some time. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/F7y0wEoSnyU?rel=0" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> At...

Air tool swivel fittings: looking for feedback

Shown here is one of my early generation Orbital QuietPlugs I use in my prototype shop. I've been using it for many months and it has never leaked and the freedom of movement is as good as new, maybe even better. The air pressure as shown in the video was 165 PSI. <iframe width="560"...

Air tool swivel fittings: looking for feedback

This is about what you can expect for the "Orbital QuietPlug HF" and also for the "QuietHose" fitting. The standard "QuietPlug" is less because of the smaller bore. I don't have numbers on it but the flow rate is at least 5 percent greater then a standard plug.

Air tool swivel fittings: looking for feedback

The answer to your first question is "YES". I don't have the flow/pressure data available at the moment however I can state that the flow rate of our standard "QuietPlug" is actually higher then a standard 1/4" plug.

Air tool swivel fittings: looking for feedback

I understand. I considered that but nixed the idea. We've been using these for over a year and have received zero complaints of this from our beta testers. You could order one of course and try it yourself and if you don't like it just send it back within 30 days and get a refund.:) One of our...

Air tool swivel fittings: looking for feedback

Thank you. I can say with all honesty that everyone who is using them thinks they are awesome. So do I since I've been using them for a year.

Air tool swivel fittings: looking for feedback

They can not be separated by hand. They are rated to 300 PSI. The maximum recommended working pressure is 200 PSI. They are non lubricated and require no lubrication. They have exceptionally low friction even when used in automotive shops running wide open up to 180 PSI. They can be...

Air tool swivel fittings: looking for feedback

This morning while having my morning coffee I stumbled across this old thread and thought I should update it. Some of you may already know from my other coupling thread. My partners and I have been using these for over a year now and we have many being used with beta testers.

My attempt to make a better hose coupler

I looked at their products and as far as I can tell, they don't make any products like ours. The upper one in the picture is a flexible (pun intended) joint that can be used in many different ways. The lower two are intended to connect between an air tool and a coupler of the conventional...
