Here are some updates from the last few weeks.. the center table, wall mounting the cabinets and installing the TV. Last major items left are, to lay in the Swisstrax flooring and to level/plumb the lift and lag it to the concrete. then after that just some small finishes here and there to wrap...

Thanks for the love guys, this has been a challenging project to turn a small 18'x21' into a space that feels bigger, and more functional. Hoping to have some more updates after this weekend. @Unruh I was thinking about a simple sound system just for better sound when i'm watching youtube vids...

Hi DelayedZ, The cabinet with the shelving I bought here in Toronto from a Canadian Tire. they were discontinued and I scooped up the last 3 in the City. funny thing is I may not use them now lol. If you were local I would let them go to you if you were interested. the cabinet is actually quite...

Renovating the Garage... Here I go! (Standard 18'x21')

Quick update. Completed the ceiling on the right side and front with pot lights (front light on separate switch). I positioned the pot lights for the front section to be lined up with the garage door windows, so even with the garage door up light still passes though. Also finally sanded and...

Renovating the Garage... Here I go! (Standard 18'x21')

Thanks guys for the nice comments! I am very happy how the walls turned out, it was a lot of work to do but worth the final product. @Ronin22 those darker natural walls look good. I was considering staining the walls to a "natural" darker tone but opted against it in lieu of going with a...

Renovating the Garage... Here I go! (Standard 18'x21')

So I am about half way done staining the spruce T&G paneling. The left if the sanded natural wood and on the right is the stained white washed look I was going for. I am quite happy on how it has turned out, I wanted a translucent stain that would keep the grain yet tone down the yellowish hue...

Renovating the Garage... Here I go! (Standard 18'x21')

Hopefully this picture gives you a better idea. the area that's shaded in black would be the lower portion of the ceiling. It has a weird shape to it as i was following along the foamed in duct work as tightly as possible. I wanted to maximize the ceiling height as much as possible in case i...

Renovating the Garage... Here I go! (Standard 18'x21')

Thanks for the kind words el monte slim, its been a long road of cutting, sanding, nailing etc. hardest part is going up and down a ladder, and making changes to the design on the fly. I'm thinking of keeping that ceiling space open where you can see the roof runners exposed (paint to match...

Renovating the Garage... Here I go! (Standard 18'x21')

So, you know what they say... one thing affects the next lol! Since I am doing the high lift garage conversion and it will be a little different than the typical high lift, I've been mulling over whether or not I want to change out the existing garage door. My door is just the standard builder...

Renovating the Garage... Here I go! (Standard 18'x21')

I added some more items to the 3D rendering just for fun, found a 996 model online seems somewhat to scale, I also drew up the other cabinets just to see how stuff fits. Might shift the cabinets on the right closer to the door.

Renovating the Garage... Here I go! (Standard 18'x21')

So here are some more updates. My garage ceiling sits at about 9' 8" at the lowest point (few inches gained at entrance due to slope). I took a peek up above the drywall ceiling to see if I had some more space up there as it appeared that there might be some, and I was surprised to find at least...
