Above 1200 Sq/FT The Bada Bing: Transforming a 40+ year old HVAC business into a personal garage

Also finished the bathroom! This was quite a project, but it turned out well. I was going to reuse the old urinal & sink, but I dropped the urinal and cracked it, so I had to get all new. Again, baseboard is pending. I may put one of those magazine holders on the wall (like the...

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Bada Bing: Transforming a 40+ year old HVAC business into a personal garage

There's an Amish cabinet factory a few hours away from me, and they have a "factory store" where all the returned items go, along with scratch & ding items that they can't sell as new. It used to be easy to find a great deal on a whole kitchen set, but it's a bit more difficult & expensive now...

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Bada Bing: Transforming a 40+ year old HVAC business into a personal garage

I'm a car guy & already have a few at various stages of completion. The layout of this shop is pretty good, because I have a heated area to work on one or two, while the others can be stored in the back, where it's insulated, but not heated.

That was one of the first things I did, including cameras. Yes, I had that thought too.

Lots of cleaning, probably drywall, several of those LED light panels, and epoxy the floor. I want it to be bright & clean. It will be a warm place to work on cars in the winter. The back part will probably just get a coat of paint on the OSB.

Thanks & I agree! It's a great location on the main highway coming into town, so I know it would be ideal for something (eventually). Best part for now will be the house bringing in some cash & paying for all the taxes & expenses for both buildings. In a way, I hope to be getting a free shop...

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Bada Bing: Transforming a 40+ year old HVAC business into a personal garage

Drywall finished, new paint, and then the new flooring is installed. And yes, I did it all myself! Excellent amateur results, if I do say so myself! I was really proud of my countertop! It turned out really well! We decided the pool table worked best running longways. lol...

Drywall replaced, and I found a really cool brick paneling at Home Depot. So I added that to make one wall a little more interesting. My loyal helper was always there to make sure I kept working. I decided to cut a hole in the office wall, making a "parts counter". Since I'm...

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Bada Bing: Transforming a 40+ year old HVAC business into a personal garage

While the weather was still nice, I had a bit of landscaping to do, just to give the place a little more curb appeal. There ARE some plants in there (we added them later) and I think next spring it will look 100% better than it did before. I did a little around the house too, and while it's...

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Bada Bing: Transforming a 40+ year old HVAC business into a personal garage

I've never had more than a 2-car garage for my projects, and as the "collection" has grown, so did the need for a suitable storage & workshop. When an older house/shop property became available, I made an aggressively low offer, and surprisingly it was accepted. My plan was to do some light...
