    Window a/c vs Portable a/c

Will go at least a 12,000 BTU or maybe 14,000.

    Window a/c vs Portable a/c

Thought about that but these metal buildings are pretty thin so don't know it they would hold an 80lb a/c unit without beefing it up a bit.

    Window a/c vs Portable a/c

Yep, freebies are the best when on a tight budget. My brother in law has a window unit sitting in his garage not being use so maybe I should give it a try.

    Window a/c vs Portable a/c

I agree, double hose is the way to go if I do the portable one.

    Window a/c vs Portable a/c

That is my biggest concern is how it would actually cool a shop that size. Also heard they were pretty noisy which I could tolerate as long as it cooled the shop.

Actually, that is what I was thinking about but just not sure how it would cool a shop like mine. Thanks for the input.

    Window a/c vs Portable a/c

Hi all, My metal building is 18w x 26d x 12h with 1 inch spray foam insulation on all walls and ceiling. The window that I wanted to install an a/c unit in is 26" wide but the sliding window only goes up 13" which limits the BTU size to only 8000. Therefore, I'm thinking about a portable a/c...

New here , pre fab metal building kit manufacturer

I had Carolina Carports build my metal 18x26 garage. Really like how it turned out but if your in a hurry it's a problem because it took 6 weeks of waiting for them to get around to it. The price for the building includes delivery and installation. They don't do the slab so you will have to...

    Metal shop insulation?

I agree, closed cell spray foam is the way to go. Just had my 18x26 metal garage done last week. Expensive but every nook and cranny is now well sealed.

    Garage lighting install

Hello all, well I'm ready to hang some 4 foot led's from my metal garage braces and was wondering how other forum members solved the issue of exactly how to hang them from the cross braces. If I use the chains that come with the lights my concern is any breeze coming thru the garage would cause...

    Power to garage

I would use MHF but my problem is the concrete driveway is right up against the house so the attic was my only choice.

    Power to garage

Planning to run power to my new 18x26 metal garage and thought I would post a sketch here to get opinions, recommendations or if what I have is sufficient. With the help of a worker in Home Depot's electrical dept we came up with this. I plan on doing the grunt work (running the wire, digging...

    Power to garage

Thanks Matt, yes the wire has red, black, white and CU for ground. I was planning on placing wire thru conduit along outside of house wall but not thru attic or underground. Guess I had better check a few more codes.

Help with attaching vinyl face insulation rolls to metal building ceiling

Sir, I'm about ready to insulate my metal garage so can you tell me which insulation you chose and how you attached it to the walls and roof. Did you also apply any radiant barrier before hanging the insulation? Have you had any problems with condensation between the fiberglass and outer...

I'm new to the forum and found my way here by seaching on the net about insulating a metal building. I must say this is a great forum that covers a wide range of topics. Probably should do a search but will ask anyway if there are recommendations for how and what to use for insulating a metal...
