I've had this vice for a while but have not been able to identify it. I am soaking it now in Rust 911 so hopefully I will find some markings after cleaning it up. It has 4 dots on the static jaw and 4 dots on the dynamic jaw. The main screw has a shield made from what appears to be galvanized...

It pulled right up and I was shocked. Clearly the man who bought it a week ago did not even try to pull on it! Then the jaw easily pushed to the side! I made sure I paid for it before demonstrating it :cool: I don't see too many of these Columbian adjustable jaw vises but the price was right!

I just posted about a vise I received today that has brass jaw protectors very similar the ones shown on your other vise.

Just received by FedEx today a cool looking Parker 63-1/2 vise. It's missing the pritchell tool and the swivel handle is made from a round head machinist's bolt. The neatest thing is the thick brass jaw protectors! I'm looking forward to cleaning this one up for one of my sons!

I purchased this Gipsy Prentiss No. 65 vise and have a question about the collar on the screw. The slot in center boss measures 1" side and 2-3/4" deep. I can feel that it is square inside to accept a large square headed bolt. The outside diameter of the base is 10" - massive for this 150 lb. vice. The middle (inner) part of the base leads me to believe this is a "through the bench" model, such that the vise sits on a missing base that has "clocking" holes for a "pin" to stop circular movement once a nut is loosened...
