So my close call with oil filter failure..

The hex nut should be for removal purposes only. You're certain that is where the leak came from?

So the impact Phillips screwdriver from the Craftsman red and grey handled set is a JIS screwdriver?

Thank you everyone for the suggestions and Merry Christmas. I have a lot of research to do, but I'll be sure to update this thread when I finally make a purchase.

Such thing as a nice 110v MIG welder?

Just as the title says, is there such a thing as a decent 110v MIG welder? This would be my first welder too by the way. I have welded some years ago and was halfway decent at it, but I am sure I'll need practice. It's immediate use would be some light body work, but being able to use it on...

Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Rudi's Datsun resto and late nights shed in Australia.

Those 260z floorboards are clean. Very hard to find something that nice here. Dry ice and a cheap impact hammer gets that seam sealer/ tar stuff up. Messy job and be careful not to gouge the floor.

Nice to see the orange. I'm holding off for an orange long handled 47oz ball peen. I guess I could use a larger dead blow too.

recommend me an ATF fluid pump for Eurocars

Pennzoil makes a nice one that screws onto gallon sized jugs. It even has a v shaped clip on the front that holds the hose in the fill hole. They make quart ones too, but these seem a bit more industrious. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003RDO1JS/?tag=atomicindus08-20 Does your transmission pan...

    1/2" SK socket set

What size do you typically use for loosening your lugs? The set you mention has a 19mm deep well which seems popular. I am guessing you are more interested in metric deep wells. More complete than the set you mention, but you don't get the case, ratchet, extensions, or other sockets. I'm in the...

    Thoughts on 1/4 Gearwrench 120xp

I purchased a 4 pack earlier this year, which came with the 1/4". Used it maybe 2 times? Doesn't seem smooth to me. Looking back, I should have just bought the long handled and stubby 3/8's.

    2017 Black Friday Tool Sales

I agree. They have the same sales throughout the year. Black Friday, Labor Day Sale, Memorial Day Sale, Easter Day Sale, 4th of July Sale, Columbus Day Sale, etc. They may have the 25% off coupon these times too. Not really worth fighting the crowds on these days though IMO. It's all the same...

Is Harbor Freight turning a corner?

This is why I have a hard time believing their "high end" tools are a good buy. They are priced so close to their name brand competition and even then, some of their stuff is priced OVER their competition. We won't even talk about replacement parts, warranties, rebuilt kits etc. This is what...

Sears.com hot deals and clearance thread

I've noticed a lot of those 3rd party sellers (for example) showing that the product used to be $300, but it's on sale now for $35. Google the part number and it's a $15 item.. No thanks.

Preferred "tool" to clean gasket mating surfaces?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009OR96U/?tag=atomicindus08-20 My favorite by far. I bought the Craftsman scrapper with points, but I find myself going back to the Lisle each time.
