Replace Double Tap with Tandem Breaker

Recently had a home inspection and the inspector pointed out that i have a 20amp breaker with a double tap. He said it’s not accepted by any of the homeowners insurance companies and I should replace it with a tandem breaker. Would it be appropriate to use a 2-20 tandem breaker to replace the...

26” or 44” top chest on 44” roller

Thanks all! Really appreciate all the comments and feedback. In the end, i really don’t need another flat surface, and would rather have too big drawers than many small ones that are too shallow. I think the best bet will be to go for the bigger box. Never too much storage space for tools...

26” or 44” top chest on 44” roller

I’ve got a US General 44” roller and currently have my old craftsman 26” top chest sitting on top of it. I need a little more room and have been trying to decide between the US General 26” and 44” top chests. On the one hand, i like having more smaller drawers in the 26” on the other, I’m...

4 Post Lift: To Bolt Down or Not? Owners Chime In...

I have a Bendpak HD-9XW - not bolted down. I have never had any reason to question it’s stability. I have the casters and move it around regularly. I am space challenged, so i keep it close to one side most of the time to store one car, park another below and still have enough room to park...

    Grease Gun Recommendations

After going through several cheap grease guns in the past few years, I’d like to buy a good quality grease gun that will last. I’m planning to buy a full size, pistol grip type with flexible hose. Does anyone know if any of these brands are better than others? Looked at Plews, lubrimatic and...

    Car lifts and space

I have 9.5 ceilings in my garage also. I went through the same process. There were too many limits and compromises. Ultimately, i built a detached garage which allowed me to do 12’ ceilings.

Where did you buy your bendpak?

I’ve finally decided on which lift to get. The prices on the Bendpak lift are the same regardless of whether i buy it direct or through one of the dealers and it seems that all of them use the same local installer. Seems like I should just buy it direct. Am i missing something?

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Spent the day detailing my car. Getting ready for the Cars & Coffee at the Concours at Amelia Island next Saturday. Shout out to PlatonicSolid for the lighting recommendation! It’s like an operating theater in there. Makes detailing so much easier.

I'm looking for some metal storage cabinets to tidy up the garage and get rid of my open shelves. uline and global both have 48" x 24" x 78" cabinets that look like they would do the job. both are in the $450-$500 price range. Recommendations on driveway prep before densifier

I've pressure washed and scrubbed - it's as clean as I can get. Of course it got cold last night and this morning the driveway was as wet as if I had hosed it off....need a nice dry couple days/nights so I can get the 4500 down

Recommendations on driveway prep before densifier

Hi all, I had a new driveway and apron poured at the end of November. Now that my 28 days have passed I'm planning on applying Lithi-Tek 4500 densifier in a few days, then sealing with Ghostshield 8510 a week later. The driveway has not been used at all, so no tire marks, grease or oil to...

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

Sorry if I've offended you. I wasn't looking to play 20 questions, just wanted to understand. I spent the morning trying to figure out how to do this in the Dialux program without great success, so this is a big help. Clearly the 3 bulb fixtures are the way to go.

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

My original thought was to use 2 light LED fixtures, from the best lighting fixture thread. I figured I'd need 12-14, which if my math is correct would be 18w x 2 = 36w per fixture x 14 fixtures = 504 watts. For those times when I'm just working on the bench, I didn't want to burn up all that...
