Workpiece clamp... Used to prevent the drill bit from grabbing the part and becoming a Craftsman Bass-O-Matic blender... Expensive Mistake

At quitting time at the shop after the guys left for home, I'd always walk back to the welding area and check the welding bottles... Invariably, I'd find the valves not turned off and this also included the tank on the forklift... Would bring this up to the guys... It'd work for a while and then...

    Quickjack stuck in up position...Rust?

Makes working on my MINI a breeze... Depending on which end I'm working on I'll position my wood ramp blocks under the wheels for safety... I've considered adding grease zerks, but the outer sleeve is too thin of a wall thickness or the threads on the grease zerks would bottom out on the pivot...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

As you probably know, Porsche is pretty good at recycling parts and they will use some parts forward on new models... As an example, if you look up the door seal gasket "Weather-Strip On Body 981-537-076-06", it's used on 2014 thru 2024 Caymans... Based on this part, I'd say your door opening is...

Mines a 2016 981S... I was able to rotate 360 degrees while still in the cabin... I settled with only doing 180 degrees... The seats need to be pushed all the way forward and fully reclined... The steering wheel needs to be pushed all the way forward and down... Work the headliner above the...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Yesterday I took my headliner to a local automotive upholstery company I've used in the past... Met with the owner of Tritex Corp. and he had the perfect fabric match and has done a number of Cayman headliners... Normally he charges $750 + tax, but since I had already pulled the headliner from...

    Interesting nut rounder

Looks like a second handle / bar was welded onto the head of an adjustable wrench... I see some weld porosity on the head and some grinding / polishing on the add on piece... Seems to work well for her purpose...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Last year I noticed the fabric in my Cayman started to delaminate from the headliner structure... This is a common issue that plague the German cars made after their government mandated certain adhesive VOC reduction take place... The glue simply falls apart... Today, in the garage, I decided to...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Not much in the garage today... I was watching Eric O on S M Auto do some wiring repair today and noticed he was using what looked like a DIY soldering aid using it to do a **** solder joint on some broken wiring... I thought, hey that's good, I would try and make one too... I seem to recall...
