idk how attached you are to that particular GTI, but it would be much better overall for you to find a southern example and sell yours. You would be amazed as just how much better condition overall good southern vehicles are. I picked up an 09 Honda Fit 3 years ago that was from Florida, and...

In typical ADD fashion I lost interest in posting to this thread or posting much in general. Been very busy with spring thaw and all things related to outdoor activities now that its warm enough. My son and I have already shot 4-5 PCSL competitions, his youth steel challenge is coming on strong...

Another thread regarding rinse-less washing got me curious about products you can use to "pre-treat" or pre-soak dirt and grime, and lift if off During the winter months our vehicles are trashed by salt and general filth. I feel bad not being able to use my pressure washer (I only have a gas...

    The *Mostly* BMW Garage Bolt-On

I was just watching a FCP Euro video on the B58 engine, hailed as the modern day 2JZ. The video expanded onto the components hung off the engine, or that are engine adjacent. While the B58 architecture might be similar to Toyota in term of quality and engineering, man do those Germans struggle...

Haha my wife would've had to live with that ugly GX460 for at least 10 years.

Never owned a Nissan. I've only owned baby LC's in the form of Lexus GX470/460. Now that I've lost 80lbs I seem to fit much better in S2K's, and I would love to own one even though our NA Miata doesn't see much time on the road as it is.

I'm a Honda/Acura Toyota/Lexus Mazda guy at my core, but the older I get the more I wanted an elevated driving experience that isn't boring, and BMW seems to do that well. Please put me on the list of people interested in buying the wagon when you are ready to sell.

-25 here overnight. Saturday morning I jumped into the shower with the wife for some adult time, and right when things got serious out went the lights and the exhaust fan went silent, so we knew it was only a matter of time before the hot water went away. Within 30 seconds the kids were knocking...

-25 here overnight. Saturday I jumped into the shower with the wife for some adult time...and right when things got serious the power went out so we knew it was only a matter of time before the hot water went away, and the kids were knocking on the *locked bedroom door* to report the issue...

Oil Change, Tire Rotation, Trans Fluid Drain/Fill 2x, and installed a new plastic skid plate to replace the one that got ripped off when my wife pretended the Fit was an air boat with a giant puddle in the road.

I thought of you when I bought a gallon of P&S Beadmaker. Hoping it will help keep vehicles cleaner for longer, and help with drying. Winter in Wisconsin is tough if you like clean vehicles.

Also great choice on the 3D printing investment! Bambu makes an amazing product and I'm impressed at the entire package...someone at bambu is very smart for putting it all together for users to enjoy! It's one thing to manufacture a printer, it's a whole different ball of wax to develop the...

Circling back a bit to your firearms adventure, my son took an interest in deer hunting last year and the lucky **** got a nice 8pt buck right away....so he has enjoyed going out! The very next weekend a coworker talked us into attending a SASP practice (youth steel challenge rimfire), and we...

Yeah I think you have to pay attention to orifice size in relation to pressure washer performance. I personally think foam cannons are a pain.....SO MANY SUDS!!!! I'm always racing the soap drying time, and just have never been able to slow down and wash like I do with buckets. Ymmv

Congrats on your reflection/self reflection, and courage to do what you needed to do in terms of your employer. I went to college and got my engineering degree wanting to NEVER sit behind a desk full time and rot. Well here I sit, and boy was I wrong about this line of work. I know I don't...

If you've got the time, look into Woolwax and their pro spray gun kit for undercoating. I will admit I don't have enough history using it to really say "this stuff works", but I'm hoping it will help in the later stages of our vehicle ownership. I didn't apply it when the vehicles were new and...

Started my xmas vacation off with an overwhelming desire to get stuff done. Walther got his xmas gifts early. He's been getting a bit fat eating 124gr, so we are gonna try 115gr for a while to see if he can trim down a bit. Wife noted a need for a new brush roller for the Dyson. Ask and see...

Envious of your welding adventure. I've been wanting to learn how to weld and get all the required gear, but not really sure what I would be doing with the hobby long term past messing with stuff around the house. I know I would want to weld indoors in the winter, which means ventilation and all...
