Harbor Freight 44" Box for $399

I picked up 2 for $429.00 each a few months back. Kept waiting for the $399.00 deal but it didn't look like it was ever gonna happen. And by the way, it's 42", not 44'. Yep, I left the handles off of mine.

    That HF Stank

The stench was so bad I never let the mats enter my shop. As I unboxed the chests I tossed the top mats in the bed of my truck to throw in the dumpster at work. I procrastinated on the tossing and even weeks later out in the Texas sun, the damn things still stunk like nothing else. I always...

Want to start painting, need advise.

Bimmer, what exactly do you have for a compressor? Someone else posted up a Graco/Sharpe/Finex gun above. Excellent choice but if I can make a suggestion for a beginner wanting to paint things with a gun versus a spray can that you currently using, get this particular one. It’s a detail gun but...

Hardly Used $500 Drill Bites the Dust

The last three Snap On tools I sent in for the $120.00 repair were either lost or they could not repair. Got new replacements, so it kind of worked out decent for me...:lol_hitti

Work bench / tool chest combo

The Harbor Freight 44 inch cabinets are only 42 inches. They're including the handles in the overall length. Your 9' 6" would leave you 30 inches between the cabinets if you didn't leave any overhang. Or you could always use a 42 and a 26.

Work bench / tool chest combo

No, that would be a prototype float tube built by ZM Weapons back around 1980. He butchered up a new set of Fox Air shocks from his dirt bike to build it and one other. A friend had the other. Being a vintage dirt bike nut and an AR15 fan , I “needed” it...lol. One day I’ll build me an Elsinore...

Work bench / tool chest combo

I wanted to build a work bench for the home shop for gun and motorcycle projects and after kicking around a few ideas for way too long I just decided to simplify things. I had an area that will allow for 9 1/2 ft of bench so I had a local cabinet door shop lay up a 2 inch thick 24 inch deep...

    Reasonable Parts Markup?

Has the guy who bills out computer help at $200.00 an hour stated what profit margins should be allowed for an automotive repair facility?

    Reasonable Parts Markup?

Swivel on air tools and air lines

Yes they are. They have replaced 4 out of 5 hoses throughout my shop. I can tell you that the few remaining normal air hoses **** in comparison. Not many of the old school Milton brass couplers left either. Replacing them all with Wurth couplers. Simply just push the tool in and go. Pull back...

Swivel on air tools and air lines

Try one of the Flexzilla swivel whip hoses. Put them on both of my mini ratchets and they work great. Ball type swivel and the hose itself is super flexible. Not having the air coupler right there at the tool helps keep things compact which just so happens to be the reason for mini...

    Which Size (1/2" x 18" OR 3/8" x 13") Mini Air Belt Sander should I buy?

Re: Which Size (1/2" x 18" OR 3/8" x 13") Mini Air Belt Sander should I buy? I have the 1/2 inch Made in the USA Dynabrade. Not cheap, but it kicks ***. Weld grinding, spot weld removal , rivet removal, prepping and dressing up plastic repairs on all kinds of stuff, really one of those tools...

    Reasonable Parts Markup?

A while back I was without someone to clean the shop and wash customers cars for a short while. A temp service had been coming around offering their services so I decided to give them a chance. They sent someone over and billed me $15.00 an hour for the employee. Imagine my horror when I found...

    Reasonable Parts Markup?

OEM MSRP for X part is $125.00. My discount from the dealer is 35%. My cost is $81.25. That's 54% markup. I've seen a whole bunch of ******* and moaning in this thread over a 40% markup. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
