What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Annual maintenance on my zero turn changed oil and filters on my transmissions, cleaned the deck and sharpened the blades.

    Industrial-type ceiling fans?

I considered a BAF but couldn't justify the cost. Fan noise wasn't a concern so I went with a pair of 56" envirofans. Pretty nice at $230 each and I can have them wired in parallel to a wall mounted switch to easily control direction and speed of both fans. On high, each fan is rated at 2100...

    Basic shop questions for beginner

Plan looks solid...any thought on windows/natural light? a second overhead door is nice so you don't always have to move stuff around to have door access.

Liftmaster 8500W - New Model, Fixed Controller!?

for larger garages, what about the liftmaster commercial jackshaft openers? Such as the LJ8900W? Doesn't use the fancy controllers....just a "Single button Control station" part 02-101 Manual says "not for residential use" wonder why?

Insulating the inside of a pole barn

Also depends on what the Bottom Chord Dead Load (BCDL) rating on the trusses are. Unless its >=5psf I wouldn't hang a ceiling.

Just received my permits to build a 'real' garage

14ft...no issues there what I failed to realize is that RVs are typically 99-102" wide, but that doesn't include mirrors, awnings, etc. fortunately, my RV's mirrors fold (they would've just clipped the sides if I didn't fold them). I have a true 120" wide opening. If I upgrade to a class A...

Just received my permits to build a 'real' garage

Small update Finally brought the RV inside..modest reflection on the floors ;) Did mess up on the door width...should've gone 12' wide in hindsight. Fits - but snug. Bought nice new weld carts for my MIG and TIG welders... Picking up a 10K Revolution 2-post lift this weekend

The Time Has Come: Need 2 Post Lift Recommendations (Houston, Tx)

I wouldn't go as far as saying best available...independently certified most definately... Just remember...every bridge you've ever driven over was likely built by the LOWEST BIDDER :scared:

The Time Has Come: Need 2 Post Lift Recommendations (Houston, Tx)

I'm in the same boat....looking really hard at a Revolution RTP10. Its ALI certified...means its been tested with a 1.5 safety factor (had to prove it could hold 15K without deformation). I just can't justify a $4500 rotary lift for a hobby garage

Finished the floors in my 48x44 garage

I did one 'area' at a time (between control joints) needs burnishing to "lock" it in.

Finished the floors in my 48x44 garage

Floors have to be clean and free of oil stains. My floors were "new" therefore I cleaned them really well with a diluted simple green mixture and rinsed/mopped with clean water several times. Applied the LS (densifier) with a cheap pump sprayer and spread with a microfiber mop pad and let dry...
